Is it me or did Kebe score today? The posts on here are like he was absolutely terrible and deserved to be taken off. he started the pass for our first goal and if you watch the replay had his hand up wanting the ball. So i suppose that shows he hates the club and hates the fans. Hmm maybe not. Maybe he is just bored of his own 'fans' constantly complaining and demanding a Messi style run everytime he has the ball. I hope he stays. But i would not begrudge him leaving. He must wonder what he has to do. 9 assists this season and he is shouted at everytime he makes the slightest mistake.

It's hard to disagree with you. He actually defends with a lot of effort too as does jobi. But jimmy will sometimes stop playing for a bit and both are frustrating to watch, jimmy will sometimes give the ball away a lot and go round his men too many times. Today he had a poor game typified by only taking people on on his own half or not getting past the three men on him. As you say , you always want him on the pitch as he will make goals, however he plays.

Comments such as he is lazy and disinterested are frankly from people who are subconsciously racist. It's always the anelkas, desaillys, kebes who are lazy. Actually they just don't see the point on garnering english applause for pointlessly closing down the keeper.

If kebe was on fire every week and jobi could make better decisions they would be top top players and not playing for Reading. For their flaws, I love them.

Thought he was good first half, then vanished in the 2nd. For those who take pleasure in knocking him wait till he has gone then you will notice the difference. Even on a bad day he is still our most attacking outlet.

I thought Kebe did well today. In what was generally a crap game he was the the bit of excitement out on the wing. He went past his marker with ease a few times in the first half and almost got on the end of a cross before he did score. The man is pure quality...We will miss him big time if he goes.

He is reading the game well aside from his occasional attempt to out pace a defender at pace instead of sometimes cutting inside and wrong footing the opposition. Just remember what he used to be like. His footballing brain was way ahead of his physical ability.
i watched him closely for one of our corners in the second half and he casually walked away from the goal, moved slightly outside toward the wing and took the ball that was flicked away by a Watford defender, cut back inside and put in a peach of a cross.
He took a knock last night and tried to shake it off but stayed on the pitch. Like any player - when he's on his game and looking interested he is a real asset to this club.

West Stand Man
Mike Hunt Kebe has to be off... The team didn't celebrate with him for his goal, and he didn't acknowledge McDermott when being subbed.

Kebe has lost the dressing room...

Boy you do have a sense of imagination..

Sure do :)

Was a great cross for Kebe's header. Excellent kung fu kick for the winner too.

Ideal Is there another team which have mustered only one shot on goal against us?

Not sure but I do remember a game earlier in the season when Reading failed to manage even one shot on goal - coincidentally against Watford. Yesterday restored my faith

winchester_royal Very solid away performance I thought. Particularly impressive were Pearce, Jem and Noel.

Ref did his best to stop us winning it though.

You forgot your sarcastic emoticon.

The ref obliged brilliantly by NOT sending off HRK for what can only be described as an ugly assault.

The ref was equally shite for both sides and eas very lenient. Got both Penalty calls right IMO.

So when did they change the laws of the game to make it mandatory that a player stays on his feet when clearly tripped in the penalty area?

Worst decision amongst numerous howlers from tubby Salisbury? His decision to book ALF for his celebration!! Just what did he do wrong when celebrating?

The club should write and ask that he reconsiders that yellow. In doing so, he could at least slightly mitigate an appalling all round performance.

And then decided to balance things out by twice failing to send off Forsyth when he should have done.

The way Watford were playing, there is no way that you could assume we wouldn't still have beaten them if we were down to ten men.

kitson the god

kitson the god BBC website says we havent beaten Watford since 2001 but during the match they said Sidwell had scored a winner since then. Who is right?

Maybe they meant we haven't beaten watford at Vicarage Road since 2001 as I remember a 4-0 home win in 08/09 when it was a bitterly cold night.

Good memory. Looks like it may have been on the box as well as it was on a Friday in January 2009

It was. Rodgers was manager of Watford. Typical Rodgers team performance - lots of huff and puff with no substance.

LOL! They had ONE shot on goal the entire match, and we scored an own goal.
One single shot on goal, from a distance, free kick which Feds saved easily and displayed his hollywood skills.

They had nothing. After the match I sat here thinking, they are doomed to go down. Can there be any worse teams in this division? If so, how poor are they?
Is there another team which have mustered only one shot on goal against us?

Coventry were much worse in the games I've seen them, didn't see our game against them but can't believe we dropped points. The standard of teams at the bottom of the table is definitely much worse than previous seasons. Preston were easily the worst team I saw last year but they still had dangerous players who could get a result, same with Sheffield Utd and Scunthorpe could always surprise.

I don't rate Dyche as a manager at all, if they had put Garner in the centre of the pitch and kept Kightly (or at least replaced him), plus maybe Wichelow then they could have given us a game but the way they set up just showed how clueless he is about the attacking side of the game. They have promising young strikers but they need a better coach behind them because some of their decision making was appalling. I've also never seen a team accidentally kick the ball out of play so many times, it was comical to watch.

Surprised by the all praise for tabb and Jem who both put in a decent shift but hardly controlled the game and I thought we hugely missed Ledge out there personally to put his foot on the ball and take control. Still, it didn't matter in the end against a Watford team that didn't perform. That said I thought Nosworthy and Mariappa look very assured despite Hunt and Churchs best efforts to frustrate them.

Our biggest bonus was that Martin Taylor wasn't playing for them, he always plays a blinder against us.

1st Hunt penalty appeal - 50/50 but the accusations that he dived theatrically were way off the mark. Those doubting - please carry out the following experiment:

Run and jump, and while you're on the way up get someone to shove you in the back and see what YOUR arms do.

2nd Hunt penalty appeal - 100% nailed on penalty. Why on Earth Don Goodman, despite seeing it from 5 different angles, each making it more clear cut than the last, continued to spew forth his original (excusable) real-time, real-speed opinion that it was not a penalty was laughable / annoying in the extreme.

Agreed, Goodman is one of the most irritating, stupid commentators around. I wish sky would get rid. People are saying Beagrie is a cock....yet they somehow think he's worse than this absolute vegetable.

Totally agree.

Jimmy will always be frustrating to watch at times but when he's on top form (which is the only time his slaggers ever give him any slack) he's far too good for this division.

Last week, McAnuff was the chief culprit for us getting knocked out of the cup after losing possession in a way that would have seen the Kebe hater's going mental if he had done the same thing.

However, just as the sun always shone out of Shorey and Forster's backsides and the likes of Andy Hughes got slagged regardless, our captain got far less stick for a performance which was far worse than what we saw from Jimmy last night. If he's really on his way, I can think of many players who wouldn't have been at the far post waiting for HRK's cross :|

Even when Kebe is at his most frustrating after getting into good positions only to give the ball away, the fact is he's still stretching the opposition, not to mention taking two of them out of the game, in away that most wingers in this division can't.

Many of his detractors should be careful what they wish for whilst praying that HRK can step up to the plate every week rather than once a month, because there's more chance of hell freezing over than us stumping up the going price for a like for like replacement.

If his future is still the balance, I wonder how big a part the East Stand slaggers will play in his final decision................................ :|
