floyd__streete I believe that Thames Sports Investments got bought out by Carlton Sports Investments in 1992.

who in turn used to be owned by LWT

I really hope we don't start spending silly money on players and get in debt. I am a fan of the way we run things now.

Bandini
Focher not read the thread so feel free to dodd, one of the football rumour sites said yesterday we were on the verge of agreement with a Russian based investor to buy the club. Prob not rel8ed but strange timing

I wouldn't be surprised if we start hearing rumours from local estate agents about showing both mysterious Russians and potential new signings around homes in the Reading area.

its funny you say that i showed a Russian bloke around a lovely place in Cornwood Gardens today, he liked it too.

John Madejski For the avoidance of doubt, I would like to emphasise that I will continue as Chairman of the club, and the club will continue to operate in the same prudent and business-like manner that it always has.

For the avoidance of doubt, we are still spending fvck all on players!!!!

Bandini ^ good news for Green Park, Floyd.

Is there a chance the track could bend?

TSI has owned football clubs in Aldershot, Chester and Darlington, and it sure put them on the map.

Royal Lady If we have a black hole every season, why would anyone want to go into business putting their money in, so JM doesn't have to put so much in, let him still be the Chairman - what's in it for them?

Why ever buy a loss making business in that case, JM has put 500k in in the last few years, this gives him a get out, possibly with the club still owing him money, but dilutes the share. They can be on a deal to buy him out on promotion, at a set price maybe.

The black hole is just a loss, add prem football and it is covered immediately.

IS there any money to be made from football? I would guess not, but if no then why do so mnay rich people throw money at it, much like horse racing really, they gamble against the other mega wealthy folk to have the best they can.

Looks like the Reading Chronicle and Jonny Fordham have no idea what is going on.

Both speculating on an investment...
