melonhead miles better this week
throughout the stadium

was worried that the influx of plastics this game would mean an even worse atmosphere, but everyone came to party, and i was much happier than usual.

good to see the kids put down the front near foxo and mags this time

it was largely down to the football on the pitch. it was end to end for much of the game. both sides giving everything. we were a lot better than we have been recently and the fans respond to that. plus it helps when the away fans interact with you. they were good value yesterday.

i'm still chuckling at the chubby lad in the pink shirt giving it to the east stand on his way out of the ground a few minutes before the end of the game. chants of "you fat bastard" from the east stand met with a finger or two back, and then he was ushered towards the exit only to reappear and leap out with his arms aloft to the amusement of the east stand. then he disappeared again to a chorus of "whoooooooooaaaaaaaaahhhhh" and then he leapt out again to the delight of y26, and repeat a couple more times. he was a good sport!

ZacNaloen The north stand tends to react to the drummer.

Much, much better in The North Stand on Saturday. I sat with 2 pals who also enjoy a good clap & cheer and we thoroughly enjoyed the football and the better atmosphere.

The drummer spoilt a good day with the samba chant on a couple of occasions but other than that.........at times it was a good noise!

Top2 for definite after our recent performances, there was a swagger about us on Saturday!

So I've just bought season tickets for next year for my son and I.

Before I go any further, get all the "glory hunter" jibes out of yer systems so we can move on ;-)

To be fair, been to five games so far this season and have tickets for a couple more. Might also go to the Blackpool match later this month too... So we've made an effort...

But it's all been in the North Stand so far and very little singing and atmosphere there...

Our tickets are in Y25, about halfway up the upper section. Can't remember the actual seat numbers off the top of my head...

I'm hoping it's going to be fantastic. Yes, my son's only 11 and I know he'll hear a few choice words and phrases but I bet he's heard it all at school by now in any case. If he hasn't, I'd be kind of disappointed ;-)

Anyway... all I'm saying is that what we want is to feel real camaraderie and support for the team all around us. Bad language is ok... and I feel some tolerance should exist in that regard. I'd much prefer to see "supporters" who do nothing but slag off their own team and players be warned than someone who's language gets a bit fruity...

I'm hoping our seats will be good and look forward to it...

However, there's talk about the "yobs" of the Y25,26 areas... Can I just clarify this? By "yobs" are people referring to those who swear etc? Or are we talking old school proper yobs? The former I'm good with but not so with the latter...

Some of you must sit in the vicinity... What's the story?!

Jamie

Agreed slammed. Opinionated, inebriated and sophisticated, thats Y26 covered anyhow. Y25 is full of the same but with a lesser degree of sophistication.

Ah that's ok then. I can do two out of the three until we get a train line all the way to the stadium then I'll go for the hat trick *

I think you need to get yourself tested for colour blindedness, as his shirt was bright green. :?

If I'm honest the only thing that disgusts me about the Northy recently has been how oxf*rd long it takes me to get a 'Bow at half time. Not interested in singing at games anymore, done that when I was younger and more interested in throwing Vs at the away fans. Let people sing if they want to but don't try and tell me what I should do with my time thanks.

You should try persuading the North standers to stay and watch the whole game first. If the majority actually did more than 80 minutes then they might just get the jist of the game and the singing/chanting bit.

I'm not sure he'd appreciate being called a kid. He looked about 30.

Let's face it, adults singing songs in public is all a bit special bus, isn't it?

"do do dooo, Adam Federici"

Just have a think about what you've just sung. It's retarded, isn't it? There's no way on earth anyone about the age of about 14 should utter those words.

Football crowds should carry the air of mild indignation most of the time, and nobody should get to their seats until c. 10mins into the game once you've watched the start on the concourse with a beer.
