Libertine Here is a look statistically;

Possession:
Reading: 35%
Arsenal: 65%

Goal Attempts:
Reading: 19
Arsenal: 34

Shots on Target:
Reading: 9
Arsenal: 13

Goals:
Reading: 5
Arsenal: 7

There is no way we can soak up that kind of pressure game after game and not concede at this level. And these stats are fairly indicative of every game we play. I think at Anfield we limited Liverpool to 58% possession. That might be a highwater mark for us so far this season. The teams at this level are just too talented to let them have that much of the ball and that many attempts on goal to expect clean sheets.

also the most telling stat for me is the shots on target against the meaningless goal attempts - so are goal attempts including those ended up in row z and y - if so a pointless stat

Big Ern Last season our game plan was to soak up pressure, hit the other team on the break and then hold on.

Unfortunately we are up against better players and our defenders are simply not good enough.

That is why we are going down.

I've been trying to tell them this. But nobody wants to listen. I even tried to use numbers to illustrate that this is our reality. I have been begging for the team to prove me wrong. I will happily say I am wrong and don't know what the oxf*rd I am talking about. But the results speak for themselves so far, including the seven we shipped last night. :(

The scary thing right now, as someone else noted, is Shorey, who was only supposed to be cover, is our best defender.

Have we won a league game yet? Have we had a clean sheet yet? Have we held a lead we've had yet?

Stuboo
floyd__streete - Everyone is desperate for Alex Pearce (a man with all the pace of a steamroller) back in the side.

- Jay Tabb has just started two games in a row for us.

- Mikele Leigertwood is our best player.

THAT'S WHY YOU'RE GOING DOWN
THAT'S WHY YOU'RE GOING DOWN
THAT'S WHY YOU'RE GOING DOWN
THAT'S WHY YOU'RE GOING DOWN

Are you officially the most negative person on HNA Floyd? Just curious.

I would say the most tuned in.

Floyd for manager!

Relegation 2012/13 - I'm looking forward to seeing:

- at least two Reading manaers sacked this season.
- us becoming the first ever Premier League side to concede 10 (or more) in one league match.
- people off Hob Nob crying on the telly.

Except the current scores make Sunderland and Stoke rivals, and they're both losing.

loose who or what? Holt?

And barely a quarter of the way into the season, 3 or 4 GD is nothing.

Now a six point gap meaning we need to win tomorrow and our game in hand to jump out of the bottom three.

For all the RTG's mantra of our 'traditional strong run after Christmas' this is starting to look ominous.

A loss tomorrow may well have AZ questioning 'What price loyalty?'.

A win tomorrow and a win with our game in hand just barely gets out of the drop zone...and might be a tall order seeing we are into November and we have exactly zero wins so far this season. Hate to be negative but right now reality is kind of a downer for us. Plus both of our midfielders Tabb and Leigertwood (the latter just coming back from a dead leg) played over 120 minutes on Tuesday with no other options available currently. I am not exactly brimming with confidence right now...
