Pepe the Horseman
Isaac Hunt Ady Williams suggested that the reason Pearce has been the one to make way between the centre backs might have something to do with not having signed a new agreement. i hope not. the fact that we're not letting Church go out on loan until he's signed a contract extension is very poor, but to do the same with Pearce too???

For what it's worth, i'm not a fan of either player, but if true, it's a shitty way to treat people.

Why the fcuk would we want to give Church a contract extension?

Because he's free next summer and we want to make some money on his sale.

Well Pearce is starting for the U21 today, so he's not playing Sunday........looks like Morrison will be on the bench.

Alf is also playing today

What does Gorkks have to do to be dropped? I'm guessing we won't see Mariappa and Morisson at the back surely?

whatever is going on behind the scenes we should be playing our best team which imo includes Pearce.
I really like and respect McD but this has me baffled tbh. I definitely did not understand why Morrison got game time in front of him on Tuesday either

Some of his decisions this season do raise a few dementia alarm bells.

Maybe we've just decided to prioritise the U-21's league over the actual league, the owners have always said the academy is important.

That would explain Feds' expulsion from the u-21 team as well...

3.5M for Pearce, minimum. POTS for a team that had the best defence, and won the league. He's only 23.

I think you mean "tenuous", but yes, tedious works too.

Play him McDermott, I don't give a toss if you can't sort his contract out - it'll all be irrelevant if we go down because you play Gorkks instead of him.

You are a few days late love'. My sources revealed this to me back on page 1!

This rumour seems to be gaining steam unfortunately, was front page on http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/ a few hours ago.

I think it is worth remembering that it was Brendon who made Pearce club captain at the tender age of 21...

Normally, I would agree but the club has let his contract run down (discussions on-going since last summer according to the gaffer today) so i think that any fee at this point would be a bonus, remember he goes for free in june/july.... now just close your eyes and imagine Brendon beaming on being liverpool with his arm draped around his new signing "the irish/english nemanja vidic" ala the welsh xavi

Ah, missed that vital bit out, fair point.
