Ian Royal I don't understand why someone'd regularly leave early to get to the pub / home a bit earlier when they know they'll miss lots of late goals and some of the best moments Reading will produce over the season. I find it utterly bizzare and not something I'd do, because when I go, I go to watch the match, the whole match.

That doesn't mean those people can't or shouldn't do it. I just find it utterly baffling.

I don't understand why you don't even go to any games.

That's probably because I do. Just not a large amount, especially when we're shit and I can watch every match from the comfort of my home for free. Rather than paying £80+ and losing an entire day of my weekend.

Ian, Ian, Ian... How dare you have a life enriched by things other than football. You disgust me.

So you'll agree that everyone has their own quite valid reasons for their actions then?

Yes, I'm sure they do. Doesn't mean I'd understand them though. But well done on your complete failure to make a good point.

I'm struggling with this. What is your need to understand why people leave early? except that they have their own particular reasons, which really aren't your concern - unless (in my case) you're interested in my domestic situation? Listen I could use a baby sitter.

ftr I understand why you don't even go, you have a low paying job and can't be arsed. Fair enough.

I would've happily gone with ten mins to go if my Dad had wanted to go. Don't get why people have got so much beef with other fans leaving early. Come when you want, go when you want.

People giving Guthrie pelters for his tweet is a bit pathetic, bet Alfie isn't getting the same shit for his response.

It appears this type pf thread comes up everytimne we get a late winner or equaliser and someone has to demonstarte what a good fan they are. When people pay money to attend an event they can chose if they go early. If fans want to stay to the end, great, but this happens at every stadium around the country and people have a choice. Who knows, they may need to be somewhere else at a certain time and need to miss the traffic.

Maybe the happy clapping, wig earing rumble stick brigade would like people handcuffed to their seats until the final whistle.

Does arriving late count? Had a prior commitment which meant having to dash from Teddington about 2 so due to the traffic we didn't get to out seats until 5 mins into the game. I do wish the team would've fore-warned me that they weren't going to turn up themselves until the 70th minute as I wouldn't have made such an effort.

Alexander Litvinenko Who are you to tell other people how to live their lives? If people want to spend their money on tickets and not bother to ever use them that's their choice.

but seriously apart from the odd occasion are people that really that disorganised that they cant watch the last 5-10 mins of a game.

if we all left then the comeback wouldnt have happened in an empty stadium.

i sincerely hope those that left early dont come back and some proper fans come instead.

people like you just dont get english football, its what makes english so much better than any other league including la liga...la liga may have technically better players in some teams but you wont find the same passion in their league - ive watched la liga and its coma inducing - barca are great but also oddly boring as they are too good, lol!

Some fans actually leave their seats but don`t leave the ground, just bstay in the concourse and watch it on TV. I have done this in the past to get a quick getaway. have to say I left with 20 minutes to go when Arsenal scored their 5th.

Optimist No.

I have never left a game early and never will, regardless of the score line, and it is on days like today that I get my rewards.

agree, ive only left 1 game early in 40+ years and that was near the end of the Bristol rovers game that we lost 6-0, i left at 5-0. Noone can blame me for that lol. Anyone who leaves a football match early seriously needs to sort their life out, is an idiot and shouldnt bother going to football matches as they just dont get what supporting a side is about, they are just Premier League glory hunters - the sort that can just p**s off as far as im concerned

seriously though, with a few exceptions, how disorganised are people or sad is that the bus queue is so much more important than wathcing the game you PAID for - do they go the cinema and watch 75% of a film, eat out and finished 75% of a meal, watch 75% of a play

what a sad sad life - and LOL to you if you left early, good hope you feel p**sed off now :D :D

Para Handy I agree with Dirker's on this one. Until someone else pays for my ticket I'll leave exactly when I want. I stayed btw.

A much better target of your ire should be those that keeping posting stuff like "we're shit" etc. etc.

Exactly.

Who cares when who leaves. Better than the North Stand pcunts who disgraced themselves today with their chants. Absolute wakners.

RoyalBlue I must admit that I was so pissed off with our showing over the first 80 minutes that I couldn't even be arsed to leave early!

Muted celebration for our first because it really just seemed like a consolation and I half expected WBA to come straight back with a third - then the unthinkable happened?

true, outplayed for at least 60 mins, evenish for next 20 and much better side in last 10 - spoke to 2 WBA fans in the hotel and they were shellshocked, probably almost as shellshocked as we were after the arsenal cup game - they play villa next week and hope they batter villa

What a sad sad life? Almost as sad as prescribing to other people what they should do and when they should leave the ground. You are a Nazi.

Booing the decision to sub Jem for Alfie, I assume they wanted Jobi to come off. Then singing "You don't know what you're doing" very funny in the end when we ended up winning
