That's not overly pessimistic, that's someone refusing to accept that we still have a very realistic chance of avoiding relegation.

SydenhamRoyal win the next 16 and we'll be knocking on the door of Europe

Woodcote Royal 21pts from now is sound (but still more than we are likely to need) but he wants 38pts with just one of them being secured in the next 6 games..................................back to our worst form of the season when we had a long injury list and none of our January signings![]()

Royal91 Lets be honest 3 points is nothing!
Its cliché' but we must win our next game. This is the first time in months where we could potentially lift ourselves out of the relegation zone . Its not inconceivable that both Wigan and Villa lose and we win. Our GD could/will be vital at the end!
Get yourself out of the ZONE before the end window and it might encourage to AZ to dig deep.
Many of you think our wins have not been convincing but with our squad they won't be, so there is no reason why we can't just grind a couple wins out now!
So back to the original point of where will be after 10 games. Depends if we win on Saturday!

It's pessimistic, based on our season so far. Not sure why you're having such a hard time accepting my opinion.

Fair enough, so, in your opinion, how many wins will we need now with ten games to go, bearing in mind of course, that we can't possibly win many games between now and then

Snowball I looked at the next 6 games (7 for Southampton)
and guesstimated the results
QPR and Villa look in big trouble, and if we do beat Wigan we
should have crept out of the bottom 3

28 -13 28 Newcastle
28 -16 25 Reading
28 -22 22 Wigan
28 -34 20 Villa
28 -24 19 QPR
Saints
0 0-3 Chelsea Away 2-2
Newcastle
1 1-1 Reading Home 1-2
WIGAN
1 1-1 Sunderland Home 2-3
Villa
0 0-1 WBA Away 2-2
Reading
1 1-1 Newcastle Away 2-1
QPR
1 1-1 West Ham Away 1-1

Ian Royal It is quite difficult to expect us get much out of Chelsea, a rejuvinated Sunderland or Stoke away. But Wiganat home should be looked on as definitely winnable. And I'd like to think we could pick up a point from the other three at least.
4 wins from our last ten seems a reasonable, if not necessarily likely requirement. Beating Newcastle was definitely a bonus.

Don't know why we bother actually playing the games. Should just get the pools panel to sort it....(do you still have pools over here or amilookinglikeacunt?)

MmmMonsterMunchRoyal Ginger QPR have drawn with Tottenham and won against Chelsea. They'll sort themselves out. Wigan will get out of it, they always do, Martinez is a master. We're in it with Villa, Southampton & Newcastle. If we're lucky Norwich and West Ham will keep sliding and be in the mix. We're still big outsiders, but there's a bit of momentum, and we could do it.
We need to keep this mini run going & cash in on the feel good factor to get out of the bottom 3 & stay out I think. Lets face it, the quality isn't necessarily there at times but the players must feel the best they've felt for quite some time & we need to capitalise on that. If the WBA result can't give them an extra 10% on the pitch then frankly nothing will.
Beat Newcastle, draw with Chelsea, draw / beat Sunderland. Easy peasy!
