I can't help but feel partly responsible for this after jinxing it on the other thread

I'd like to say I'm upset, but to be honest, I'm not. I'm just shocked.

Thanks for all the good work Brian. Sorry it didn't work out this season and you've paid the price. Good luck where ever you go. You're still a Reading Legend no matter what.

southbank1871 Fukk this, why now?

Too avoid a slow start and dull football next season?

Also, so that more of Anton's cash isn't wasted?

Only positive I can see is that maybe it will just us a short term boost to do the unthinkable.

@EPLStatman
@Craigo1871 players were told to say nothing until announcement and "trained as usual" was the official line

This smacks of Wolves last season.

Shocked but not surprised.

Probably the best decision to do it now and allow another manager to build up for promotion next season. Brian lost the fans, the dressing room and the owners.

I really do hope he has some roll to play for our club in the future.

Good luck Brain. All the best.

I am in two minds about this, we do need a change somewhere, but then who will we get in his place? Is this squad actually good enough to stay up?

So long Brian, a man of great honour and an all round good bloke, reminds of the Maurice Evans in the way he conducted himself.

Lets hope our new manager can get us playing a decent style of football. Im worried about the team unity that we had under brian though, surely this could potentially detrimental. However if we do sign adkins he has pull with players, isnt afraid to spend, played decent football at soton, and could get us established in the pl. I will miss brian though and this is truly devastating news.

If we don't have suitable replacement lined up to start immediately then have to say I'm completely disgusted by this decision

Think it had to happen, the style of play has got worse since promotion, signings have been a failure for the most part, the dressing room needs a kick up the arse. Doubt were stay up but think it's better for a new manager to work with the current squad before the summer transfer window. Just hope we don't do what Wolves have done
