Royal91Royalclapper The thing about the 'old Reading way' (under SJM) is that he has a pretty good track record of managerial appointments. Sure, there have been a couple of stinkers, but overall they have been successful and key to our greatest achievements as a football club.
Even if AZ wants to pimp It all up a bit, he could do worse than to cast an eye over SJM's former managerial hit or miss list.
You raise a good point. Forgetting the financial aspects, SJM mostly made the correct managerial appointments. In relation to Wolves they are not in the shit because of sacking McCarthy with 13 games to go, they are in the shit because of subsequent managers they have employed. Like Blackburn!
Its all about getting the correct manager in. Rodgers failed because he was trying to change things too quickly and we can't be scared of trying to change our footballing philosophy again.
We need a blend of both, someone wanting the team to pass, but also someone willing to throw in the long channel ball as well.
SAF?
