I would not be surprised if some of our current squad left. If it is to the Prem then best of luck to them. Neither would I be surprised if Kebe was one of them. On his day he is nigh on impossible to defend against but when he has an off day, he resembles Bambi on Ice.

Does anyone realistically and honestly believe that Federice is a top flight goalkeeper? It won't be him off to the top flight. Neither will it be Carrico as he has hardly figured since arriving. My money, but not the mortgage, will be on Pog moving on which I would regard as a shame. He has the chance to shine in the Champ but is his heart up for the challenge? Guthrie has played in the Championship before with Newcastle so quite possible that he would stay.

I'm not too fussed about Kebe any more - he's had his best days in a Reading shirt and we now have Ricky, who can become a crowd favourite.

yappy
One8Seven1 Kebe on the other hand asked to leave when McDermott was sacked, and the club have agreed he can go if we receive a suitable fee (rumoured to be £2m).

Is that really true?

Sparta keeps pointing out this comment I made a few months back:

maffff I heard Kebe asked to leave shortly after Brian departed... haven't seen or heard anything elsewhere though.

I'm not aware that anything has changed. I don't expect to see him in a Reading shirt again [but with football you just never know].

How have you quoted me in a post before I made the post? LOL

And no? I mean I heard he could be leaving, but that is the first story I've heard about it which is more than just speculation.

Who is going?

by ImReadingTillIDie » 14 Jul 2013 00:04

Having seen the list of the 22 players who played in the friendly it's obvious to me that Carrico and McCarthy are on the way out. Any other suggestions?

Yes! Realistically our championship winning season shows he is too good for that level and honestly after his injury he showed he can perform at the top level. We have two PL quality keepers, shame we were playing the third one during the crunch time last season.

Our "third one" wasn't the problem at your so-called "crunch time"

It was what was in front of him

Nevertheless, the Federici hatred always makes me recall his god-like status once upon a time on here

Only those who have been insisting this is the case since the day he was first given the shirt, despite an endless list of school boy errors from a decidedly average and limited stopper.

Beyond the deluded world of our own fan base, McCarthy will be our only 'keeper any top flight club will be even considering making an offer for.

Furthermore, we need to hope and pray that our England international has been assured of number one status next season and elects to place the true value on a full season of first team football.

Regardless of the fee involved, if McCarthy leaves this club with only a handful of first team games under his belt, it will be a disaster for our academy system and the biggest error Brian McDermott made in his time at the helm.

Pog's agent confirms interest from Premier League, and hasn't ruled out a move back to Russia. Looks like he could be gone before the new season

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11673/8825029/Transfer-news-Reading-s-Pavel-Pogrebnyak-wants-Premier-League-stay

Pavel Pogrebnyak admits it would be a "dream" to stay in the Premier League after his agent confirmed interest in the striker from top-flight clubs.

The 29-year-old joined Reading on a free transfer from Stuttgart last summer after impressing during a loan spell with Fulham.

However, the Russia international could only manage five goals in the Premier League as the Royals suffered relegation straight back to the Championship.

Pogrebnyak is now almost certain to leave the Madejski Stadium this summer, with Reading owner Anton Zingarevich confirming in May that the player had a relegation release clause in his contract.

His agent, Oleg Artemov, says he has received offers from Premier League clubs and Pogrebnyak is keen to stay in the division.

However, the striker has also refused to rule out a return to Russia, where he has previously enjoyed spells with the likes of Spartak Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg.

"It's true that my dream is to continue my career in England, in the Premier League. But I wouldn't deny a move to Russia," he told sovsport.ru.

"On the contrary, the best moments of my career are from the Russian championship. So anything can happen."

super darren caskey Its shit how players jump ship when teams are relegated, especially new players like Pog and Carrico.Granted Carrico didnt get much of a look in but Pog played lots of games. He played his part in our relegation so he should stay for one more season to help us.

yeah nice 1 m8 - pog is sh1t so sooner he goes the better

If Pog leaves do we need two strikers or is ALF, Roberts, Blackman, HRK and Samuel enough?

I can't see us bringing two in.

I think Blackman has been playing wide just to fit him in and give him some game time, premier league was to much of a step up from league one and I feel he could benefit in the championship and have a good season. We do need another quality striker but getting a creative spark/game changer in as we'll as a holding midfielder to replace leg was a must and we have done that. I expect either a striker abroad or Austin, sharp to join. It's the first time in our history that if we don't get promoted we have underachieved I feel. Exciting time to be a royal
