Super Kevin Bremner! Manager asked question by press about player. Manager answers in open and honest fashion. Manager lynch mobbed by a bunch of morons.

The whole reason there are so many disconnects between supporters and the clubs nowadays is that the supporters are treated like they're not allowed to be in the loop on anything.

Here's a thought for the morons: I wonder how many bust ups and dirty laundry issues Adkins has already dealt with behind closed doors?

Lynch Mob?
Get a oxf*rd grip mate. About 10 people were slightly critical of the manager on an internet forum, it's not the end of the world.
So many people on here think they're NA's bodyguards for some reason. So he gets a little bit of criticism, so oxf*rd what?

paddy20 Good argument but saying he desperate to play is hardly bad mouthing the manager. Think of Adkins response re Kebe after the Peterboro game. Just think its not that dignified. To say that probably noone will want Akpan is not going re-inspire what could be a good player. Coppell didn't get much wrong.

Publically saying that you want to leave to get that opportunity to play is pretty tantamount to bad mouthing the manager and the entire set up

Letting it go without a robust public response would be weakness

When we had Coppell we had few egos and a happier ship - we were on the up and had never been to the Prem. Once we had hit the glory land of the Prem even that ship was being rocked too - see Shorey, et al.

IIRC Coppell even slapped a few players down publicly - maybe not by name, but he damn well made sure everyone knew who he was talking about

player asked if hes happy with not playing every week.
player asked if he would consider a loan move if he continued to get no game time.

answered honestly in both cases.

I have no problem with that tbh.

im niot massively keen on the manager doing his management in the press. but dont have a huge [problem with it either.

not really sure what the fuss is about either way

Super Kevin Bremner! And another thing, when a manager leaves a player out of the team, he's doing that for the good of the team. When a player has an outburst in the press at being left out, he's doing that purely for his own good. If that's how he wants to make his point then he's fair game for a public dressing down in my opinion.

If one of your employees does something wrong do you give him a roasting in front of the rest of the office or do you call him into your office and roast him then? A lot of managers will not necessarily have had any management training. For the argument to go public - don't forget all Akpan was saying is that he needs to play (work). I would rather have any of a squad moan that they are not playing than those that sit around just taking the wages and be content to do so.Cant see this rift being mended.

And if one of your employees was bad mouthing you loudly over the tannoy/emails, etc? Sending cuttings to the press about your company being shit and your managers being shit?

There is a big difference

Machiavelli said that the Prince has to be loved, but also feared

So a public slapping was needed to stop others acting as twats

i saw no bad mouthing at all.
just a comment that he'd like to play more

windermere_royal And this thread shows me exactly why I don`t come to the team board so much these days, an over reaction of the highest order, and for big foot, just piss off ok.

Mild lol

Not ironic because I am aware that I am 'protecting' the fans.
Take a look at your comment history mate, you are obsessed with slagging off the fans at any opportunity.

People criticise NA on the basis of what NA does/says. You criticise the fans as a collective, on the basis of what a few anonymous posters on the internet say. Can you not see the difference?

If you want to insult some fans at least go to a game and observe them in real life.

The difference is that NA can stick up for himself. The 'fans' that you constantly harp on about can't speak up for themselves, because they are a figment of your imagination.

If you want to insult some fans at least go to a game and meet them in real life.

Protected? NA can stick up for himself? The fans can't speak for themselves?

To be honest, you're a bit of a cock end with some of your rants, and at times forget what you rant on about beforehand.

You openly criticise one person and highlighting one point for having an opinion, but then go on to have your own opinion but that's ok, because you can, because it's the internet, because you are so damn right. It's not the end of the world...mate......

Some people on here think they are Reading FC's bodygaurds because they've been to a few games...

Carry on as you were.....

It is ridiculous to insult a whole fan base of tens of thousands of people on the basis of what a few people say on the internet.

You can criticise what I say, I can criticise what you say, and we can criticise what NA has said, but it's just pointless pretending that what I or you say reflects the views/behaviour of a collective tens of thousands of people.

Furthermore, I believe it is hypocritical of someone who hardly ever attends games to constantly go on about 'shit fans'. If you want your insults to have any real value at least get out of your armchair once in a while and display some support yourself.

Just another reason to add to the list as to why Adkins should be sacked.

To reiterate what I've previously said in the past (go check my history, you love it!), I base my opinion's on actually having been there this, last and many many seasons before and I stand my ground, our home support is shit compared to what it used to be.

Also, you go on to say that I 'hardly' attend to 'at least get out of your armchair once in a while', which is it?

Many fans, home and away, have said that our home support is shit. It is. It never used to be.

Are you going to chuck me out, Mr.RFC Bodyguard, for saying so?

The minute a thread contains more smilies than words is the minute I realise it's probably not worth reading.

I apologise for the ott usage of smiley faces. I do get HNA and Mr Tumble's fan club forum mixed up at times, and we like using lots of smiles and happy faces on that site.

The Zingarevich/Adkins fans really are very aggressive.

They throw insults at vastly superior managers like Coppell and McDermott, the great successes that those managers achieved at the club, John Madejski and also the fans of the club. Whilst doing that they shout down anybody who says anything slightly questioning of the current regime as if those asking the questions have insulted members of their Family.

Not surprising to see that they hardly attend.

I started this thread as an open question. Just interesting to see other peoples views. Don't think these things should ever become aggressive or personal for whatever reason. Loses its enjoyment then a bit. Strong views are good though just as long as it allows others to have their own strong views. We all want Reading to do well at the end of it - well hopefully we all do

Championship Titles:

Coppell - 1
McDermott - 1

Adkins - 0

Pretty simple really, although I wouldn't expect you to understand simple football ideals.

What about Premiership relegations. I'll give Brian a half for that.
