pea what a load of drama queens you all are

result was 1-0 and a fair reflection of the game, no different to what any of us expected going into the game and the performance was average with brighton only marginally better. Gunter was our best player other than Federici

fans, no different to FA cup third round last year at Crawley

who cares

The fans were exactly like the ones at Crawley, funnily enough the last time I saw most of them. Bloke behind us refused to sit down ( we were 6 rows from the front) and then when told to sit down offered out a 60 year old woman. He was so pissed he could barely talk, called everyone oxf*rd then walked off. He was well ard. Retarded.

Hopefully not too much repetition here but a few thoughts from me.

1. Very similar to the Forest game, we come up against a side who pass the ball and they cut us to shreds. Brighton got in between our midfield 4 and back 4 too often and had time and space to pick passes through us, combined with a faster paced passing game at times to manouevre our players out of the way to create space for them to play in. We try to pass the ball, knock in round the back four a couple of times, panic, then lump it in the vague vicinity of a forward (ALF mostly on Saturday) and expect him to chase it down, control it, beat four players and score all whilst being man marked by big units of defenders. The weather may not have helped out pretty football, but Brighton still passed it round well and made a mockery of us.

2. Linked to the above. We lack any real protection for the back four. There's no one sitting in between the midfield and defence to break up the opposition attacks, like Ledge used to do in the Championship season. Brighton got their tricky players in behind the midfield and running at the back four on far too many occasions.

3. When we do try and pass the ball, we do it far too slowly, and there never really seems to be many options for the man on the ball to pass to (which also slows the moves down). This is even more evident at throw ins where there basically only ever seems to be one option for the thrower to chuck it to. The one occasion in the first half we worked the ball from back to front we did so with pace and energy and we got it from box to box.

4. There is no width to the team. The two wide midfielders cut inside too often, relying on the full backs to provide the width. When Gunter is playing fullback the right side kind of works, but we don't have an equivalent on the left wing at the moment, as Kelly is too defensive minded. If you look back at the successful seasons we've had great full back and winger combinations, and we've got at teams and put lots of crosses into the box and provided service for the forwards. This team just doesn't do that, until we start to chase the game in the last 15-20 mins. Again on Saturday, we only really had width when Drenthe came on to the right wing and worked well with Gunter, but more so on the left wing where Obita looked really good at left full back at put some good crosses in and combined well with Williams.

5. I like the fact that Brighton open up their North Stand concourse (home end) after the game and anyone is welcome in there. We were meeting some Brighton supporting friends after the game and were able to go in there for a drink and a chat whilst waiting for the traffic to die down.

If he was stood up behind you, why were you poking your nose? He wasn't affecting your view.

Sounds like you were the one acting like a retard.....

Where did he say he was actively involved rather than just reporting what he saw?

Work colleague of mine is a Brighton fan. Said we were utter toss in the first half, but played OK in the second but Brighton should have been out of sight by then. Oh, and Le Fondre ran around a lot but was ineffective.

He didn't even run around a lot.

Who were the idiots ripping up chairs and throwing them (at our own fans) who were arrested and now are banned from all clubs?

Don't know. They were two or three rows in front of me, near the back, right in the middle of the goal.

If the woman had punched him then the drunk spastic would of landed on my 9 year old son, so I had to show concern..

They were the row behind me, about five seats to my right, not even sure they meant to rip them out tbh, and they didn't exactly throw it, more dropped it into the row in front and it hit the guy two rows in front.

I thought it was only one seat. Not sure whether the guy stood on it and it broke or what. He just seemed to hold it up in the air and cheered, and at which point the stewards and then the police got involved and he and his 7/8 mates all left

You must have been in the exact same spot as me, or very close at least.

I saw the guy holding the seat up in the air. He didn't appear particularly troublesome when he was doing that, more just amused and I thought at that time it was an accident (albeit a wreckless one!). When the Police came he again seemed confrontational, but just confused and didn't really want to leave, but he left easily after just a minute or two.

Is that the same person who was threw a seat at someone? If so, then my view is obviously wrong! Unless there was more than one seat broken?

The same guy broke and 'threw' the seat, but he didn't really throw it, he dropped it into the row in front and the guy two rows in front got it in the head.

In the front 6 rows the stewards worked hard to get us to sit because, although comfy, they were also soaked. Plus we had a goal net and crossbar to look through :(

2nd half stood at the back and escaped a further soaking 8)
