LoyalRoyal22 I missed the Bolton game, my first game since Forest at home. Was well worth pulling a sickie for :D

Just moving the ball quicker into wide areas which is what we are good at, but not much long ball, its all pretty short and crisp. I don't remember us getting these scorelines under Brian when we got promoted which suggests the team now is stronger than that team and we have better balance in terms of tempo and when to keep the ball. Individually if you look at it, we now have better full backs that push on, Williams is an upgrade on Ledge and we have Pav rather than Roberts/Hunt, also better squad depth. It is all set up for a late push.

McCarthy- 7
Gunter- 7
Obita- 7
Pearce- 7
Gorkks- 7
McCleary- 9
Jobi- 8
Akpan- 7
Williams- 7
Pav- 8
Le Fondre- 9

Beat Barnsley 4-0 at Oakwell which suggests to me that Brian's team was more defensively sound than this one and played at the same tempo.

Yeh I was at that game. The football we played in last home games is better quality than anything Brian produced. We playing a high tempo yes, but the passing is still controlled. It was more smash and grab under Brian.

That's no swipe at Brian. Adkins has a better squad now than he did.

BR2
lardydah Thought the whole team were brilliant last night, as previously said like how all of the little partnerships are forming up all over the park.

If we carry on at this rate at home, we might even make it to Adkins ridiculous pre-season 100 goals target!

It has taken nearly a year but Adkins now realises that a settled side often plays better together and changes don't have to be made every week even if we lose one game.
He also knows that there will be no other options for the rest of the season and we have to go with what we have got.
Last night was like watching a Coppell team pressing all over the pitch and great to see the unselfishness of Mc Cleary (again) in setting up Alf and likewise Alf when setting up Pog-a shame that Jobi got greedy.

I'm not with the Jobi love-in partly because of the greediness in not squaring the ball to Alf and partly for being greedy in midfield, losing possession for them to score.
.

OMG! The Jobi haters really are getting desperate now!

For f*cks sake, he lost the ball inside the Blackpool half. Two of our defenders were goalside of their player who was on his own, and another of our players was closing on him. The guy then produced an absolute superb strike to score. Yet despite all of that, the goal is the fault of Jobi! I'm afraid that logic borders on the moronic.

How long until Jobi is blamed for a goal conceded when an opposing keeper makes a great save to deny him a goal and our opponents break forward at pace to score a goal on the counter?

I'm pretty sure that Obita's solid progression as a left back would not have been so successful (thus far) with someone other than McAnuff ahead of him.

Agree with this. Jobi seems to encourage him- unlike Guthrie who would stand hands on hips and shout.

Some real class moments of encouragement from Jobi for Jordan too.

Sorry, let me try again. Yesterday, at the game, I was wondering why Forest and Watford are playing on Thursday. Does anyone know?

So why were you indulging in pointless musings when you should have been backing the boys?

Erm, when Tyson came on, I wondered if he played with Gunts and McCleary at Forest. I then thought to myself 'Why are Forest and Watford playing on Thursday?'.

Similar to me.

I was at the game and my mate said that Alfie was offside for his first goal. I said he must be f/cking blind. He said blind people are extra-eager in bed, sort of to compensate for being a bit "spakker" like. I said that it was impossible for him to compare as he had never slept with anyone who isn't blind, because he is a f/cking fat ugly sock of sperm. He said he gets his socks from Marks & Spencer. I said that's because he only ever goes to shops with food in it. He said I don't eat enough and that's why it looks like I am dying of AIDS. I said I look like I'm dying of AIDS because I am dying of AIDS. He said AIDS sex was the best offer I had on the table, so I shouldn't complain. I said the guilt of f/cking his mum spoilt the memory. He said it was kinda sad thinking the best date of my life so far was getting AIDS off a 67 year old female Geoff Capes. I said all his dates ended up with him burying a bin-liner of clothes in a forest. He said Forest play Watford on Thursday. I said "why are Forest and Watford playing on Thursday?"

Have to agree, I don't know how one could blame Jobi for their goal. How many times does one expect someone to hit a shot like that from that distance and beat a keeper like McCarthy.

If players (especially wingers) become afraid to lose the ball they won't have the confidence to express themselves and nothing will be created.

Happens to us all, m8, happens to us all. (Usually the female Geoff Capes bit.)

He was in an offside 'position', however. HTH.
