Never seen a flare used at an RFC game that 'added to the atmosphere'. Not sure how the atmosphere yesterday could've been improved anyway. Flares in England are used by young idiots who want to look like the coolest away fans in the ground and impress thier 'football casual' wannabe mates.

Tossers.

Nameless
TBM On a (slightly) related note, the over reaction from the media etc about the Villa fans doing a pitch invasion is laughable. Nobody got hurt and it was a celebration rather than a riot

The biggest over reaction was from the Villa fans.

Heaven help we ever had a pitch invasion over something as trivial.

Like finishing 7th you mean?

Well if he was being serious I suppose that speaks volumes as it came off as incredibly sarcastic.

Jagermesiter1871 The only thing unbelievable here is this thread. Assuming the flare wasn't some weird sadistic allusion to a stadium fire (who the oxf*rd even thinks like that), then what exactly is the issue with someone setting off a flare? No one got hurt and added to the atmosphere for me.

Because it's illegal?

Irrelevant and inaccurate. Unless you were filming upskirts then that would be a civil matter - breach of contract - whereas setting off the flare would break criminal law.

Very decent of you. I thought your support was fantastic. The walk to and from the ground was how attending football should be - tribal but not threatening. Valley parade now definitely up there as best away grounds to visit.

(Also, my first time walking through Bradford City centre - the Victorian Gothic architecture is just amazing - me and my son were really impressed and interested).

Remind me never to go to the football with you and your dull son.

As for the flare, seriously for oxf*rd s sake. Stop bandwagon jumping. If sir John didn't get involved most of you wouldn't have known it was the 30 year anniversary.

.

Surely the fact that it is the 30th anniversary is completely irrelevant. It would have been thoughtless and insensitive whatever the year.

Look at the friendly reactions. Are Bradford fans potentially the nicest in the football league?
