Gordons Cumming Showed Bournemouth too much respect with our line-up. Too defensive. I would have started with Appiah. He looks like he has goals in him given the chance.
Last 20 mins was best with the introduction of..............Appiah!

He certainly livens things up but lets face it, he appears to have all the composure of Paul Brayson. The two chances he fluffed on his debut, the air shot last night.....

He's here on a short term loan, he has to hit the ground running. The guy is 24 and not a kid and as a striker he should have done better than he has with the chances he has had presented to him.

Can't fault his enthusiasm, pace, etc but we would probably have got the same result from chucking Cardwell or Novakovich on the pitch. Zero goals.

Dave-Royal Wow I was right with the 18,900  only 17 Fans out. 18,917 it was.. and the game Reading Played well

Assuming the attendance was recorded correctly, Is it based on tickets sold or those who turn up?

decent game, bar the first ten minutes when we were rabbits in the headlights, when I was envisioning yet another 12 goals in a cup game vs arsenal, with far fewer of them for us than last time. was all too frantic and breathless and needed someone to put their foot on it and engage brain.
easier said than done with Bournemouth closing us down so quickly .

eventually we managed to get a foothold, and carve out some decent opportunites though, and looked the more likely to score the next goal until the final whistle. defence was solid, keeping them out, with nothing troubling feds, bar the unlucky ricochet for the goal

last 15 mins livened right up(after some terrible diving by them, and silly decisions by the ref) and we were looking good,
they were looking desperate in defence, but yet again we looked toothless in the final third.

didn't think HRK was any better or worse than mcleary, karacan or chalobah tbf

TBM Just seen the goal - nice of the defenders to follow up the shot that hit the post.....instead they all just stand and watch as Wilson takes the ball, from almost behind him, turn and slot into an empty net - unchallenged

Interesting to hear you confirm what I thought appeared to be the case, but was too shocked to fully comprehend, at the time. Was Ake, who had a great game after the goal, one of those at fault? I had a feeling he was.

Coming from you i think that is actually a compliment.

Would much rather play along and take the piss out of his trolling than get wound up by it.

These stats suggest we did everything but score tbf

Rather more telling was the comment at the top under "Strengths"

(Team showed no significant strengths)

I also have to say I can't agree with the "did everything but score" idea, as we barely had a shot worthy of the name.

Sadly we have the cutting edge of a beach ball.

We get into promising positions, then either fail to put the ball in, or just play in a percentage ball aimed at nobody.

Coppelled_Streets
P!ssed Off Bournemouth were utter pcunts.
Hope they come straight back down.

If their owner keeps pumping money in like he has been then they could well stay up. The stadium will need a lot of reinvestment and sharpish too.

To be fair to Bournemouth, I'm happy enough to see them go up. It is hard to imagine how they will cope with their stadium being so small, but good luck anyway.
I just hope then then that their fans will drop their attitude problem and envy that they have towards us, and now they just might stop treating the Royals fixture as their annual cup final.

Hope Bournemouth do it.

Like we have had our day ( for some reason, they took umbrage to it), now it's their turn.

Great to see and great for football per-se.

Will be fun seeing the Manchesters, Liverpools and Chelsea's hemmed into their modest surroundings.

Just hope Brentford manage to join them

I hope they get a fcuking good seeing to on a weekly basis and then drop through the leagues.

Brentford is a different matter.

Tbf if they hadn't made such a fuss about us "buying" our way out of Division 2 back in the day then I think more would be happy to see them go up with their Billionaire owner.

Oh and hi Kes.
