It's a poor effort to support Fed by highlighting other similarly important errors.

Something that really doesn't need a new thread and just ends up looking petty, small minded and negative after a great performance.

I agree with the two posters who don't like the idea of singling out Feds on Wednesday.
My reasoning is that we don't want to draw attention to one player-we didn't do anything like that for Archie back in 95 and I just feel that we should give a massive ovation for the whole team and not risk putting Feds off for Wednesday's game which still has some importance.

MmmMonsterMunch Absolutely not meant that way - seen it plenty of times on here so assumed it was standard msg board fare.

But I don't particularly like the flag gesture. Bit OTT for me. He's not just come back from Afghanistan & had his limbs blown off. A decent standing ovation is more than enough.

Oh well, we better cancel the whole thing then.

Don't worry Frank, I'm sure you'll like it by Wednesday. Just like you liked Brian, then didn't like Brian, then you liked Adkins and then you didn't like Adkins.

You are aware that it's actually an admirable thing to be willing to change your opinion as evidence mounts against it?

Oh. whoops. Didn't notice I was talking to sandman there. Obviously not.

There's changing opinion over a slow amount of time and then there is the bi-polar extreme to extreme the way that MonsterMoobs changes his.

Considering the amount of evidence that mounted up against Adkins and the fact you still haven't changed your opinion despite the evidence that it just wasn't working on the pitch suggests you're not quite as committed to the principles you're preaching as you claim to be.

Feds' error might just work in our favour. Right up to the moment of his error, his goalkeeping had been first class. He was in the shop window, displaying his undoubted skills to the Premier League managers and scouts watching. So now he might be less likely to receive tempting offers at the end of the season. Maybe not so good for his career or bank balance, but good news for our team next season

Good for the bank balance of everyone else though. Two trips to Wembley in just over a month would have been a bit expensive.

I'd like to think that managers / scouts would look beyond a single, albeit critical, error when assessing a keeper. The main issue will be his ongoing state of mind and whether it affects him in the long-term.

Anyone who's played sport has blundered, and should understand. What I felt in that stadium last night was that pretty much the whole place muttered a version of "the poor sod" at Federici's slip. Have heard nothing but kindness towards him from everyone I've met today.

I hope he picks this vibe up, and it makes him stronger. This day will pass, and he'll have little worse in sport. So it's all up from here.

I put my sandwiches at the bottom of my rucksack under my flask and they got squashed
I put my t shirt over my fleece, which was too warm
I forgot I had face paint on and tried to wipe sweat off my forehead and smudged the hoops

3 mistakes, kind of puts Fed's problems in perspective

Maybe because of the fact that you preceded telling him to chin up and sign in the summer by emphasising the fact that his '1 slip u cost reading a place in the Final'

I was just a bit bored with the nice things and calls for support.

I expect when Fed comes out for his usual pre-match warm up he gets the applause he deserves.

The guy has nothing to be a shamed about and will get support from the fans no doubt.

I expect chanting his name throughout the Birmingham game.......unless he does it again!

Irrespective of the underlying sentiment, what an utterly pointless thread. Why dwell on the negatives, it's not like it's a League 1 side that klocked us out. Some food for thought, Ozil and Sanchez cost Arsenal more than the combined fees for every player we have ever signed.
