Would you take Vydra permanently?

I'd love for us to keep Vydra but I'm not sure we'd be able to afford him. Stranger things have happened of course but what Watford do in the summer is a big part of the equation, as is the amount of money RFC put into the transfer kitty.

I can see Vydra performing well under McDermott but, as other have said, it doesn't matter how good or bad a player he is if we don't play to a system that suits him or get him scoring goals. I can imagine we'd need to see a bit of evidence that McDermott can make both of those happen between now and the end of the season for us to invest the fee and wages it's going to take to get him.

4) He not justified the money we paid
5) He can only play in one system

Pogrebnyak had a couple of very productive seasons/spells.

He scored 24 goals for Zenit the year they won the UEFA Cup and then he had that fleetingly prolific spell with Fulham, although that was only really due to the hatrick he scored.

Other than that though he wasn't much of prolific scorer so it was always a bit unfair that Reading fans thought he would be.

I'd still take Vydra all day long if we could afford him. In fact, a Vydra/Pogrebnyak partnership would probably have worked pretty well.

Vydra had no confidence under Clarke. With McD, he's playing with more gusto and things are starting to click. I'd say I would be a little unfair to judge him over his whole term with us and that it might be more accurate to assess him for what he could become under the right management.

I think he's class. Struggling, under-performing, but still class. Snap him up for 4m. Anything more and I think we would be spending money needed elsewhere.

Whats makes you think vydra wants to stay anyway. i if he is as good as you reckon one of the richer Championship side would bid
for him at the end of the season.

Good strikers are sought after, not heard f anyone else chasing him.

Playing in a rubbish team with zero confidence he's been dodgy.

But when signed permanently in a team with better spirits I'm sure he'll do well.

Of all those suggestions, the only one that even sort of works is Anton Ferdinand. You need the emphasis to be on the last syllable of the name or it sounds wrong.

Surely our fans can learn another tune????
