Lower West Baker was probably the nail in his coffin. In Baker we had a guy who wanted to play , to contribute to the team for the full 90 minutes of the match. Was happy to play in whatever Gomes assigned him too. Baker had far fewer Championship appearances too prior to coming on loan.
There's always the chance that Kelly would have seen this, learned from it and implemented it this season but we'll never know.
In truth though the "nail in his coffin" much like everyone outside of the Firewall Five (and I'm not convinced they're that secure) is our perilous financial situation. Kelly isn't a kid anymore, he was a well paid member of our squad. Like every single player of that ilk if an offer comes in, we will be looking to sell.
