NathStPaul Preston 2 Reading 0

Drinkwater OG x2

That’d mean he could be arsed to track back into our own box. So unless they are both from corners, imagine it’s unlikely

NathStPaul McIntyre must be fit by now? If so I'm not sure what it is Tom Holmes has done to keep his place. Definitely needs a rest.

Agree but I think Holmes has been a bit better in the last 2. And suppose we did just keep a clean sheet - though still conceded a ton of shots on goal

I thought he was ropey against Peterborough but yeah the clean sheet is the important bit I guess. Just think McIntyre gives us a bit more on the ball, it's handy to have one of the centre backs who can play a bit.

2-0 Reading is my prediction. this will be the game where we turn things round and go on a mini run of positive results seeing us to safety

I do actually feel we’ve turned a corner, or maybe half way round a bend. We weren’t that bad against Coventry. A red card and two stupid goals from set pieces but we did ok. A clean sheet again boro midweek. And we weren’t horrendous against Bristol. It has been a bit of steady progress. I think it will come together today.

Really uninspired seeing Drinkwater and Holmes still in the team but I'll try and remain optimistic.

It’s the same pattern as before. We were ok against Huddersfield and Middlesbrough. Even Fulham sounded like we played ok in parts. Only really the Luton game we’ve been really rotten

Don’t see any upturn in performances to be honest. We were appalling against Bristol for 70 mins. And dire against Peterborough in the main

Did hear somewhere that VP wanted to have McIntyre play 90 minutes in the U23s before giving him game time in the first team.

Don't understand how Drinkwater stays in the side ahead of Bashiru. Yeah, the young lad isn't brilliant or well suited to a defensive role. But he makes far fewer mistakes than Drinkwater.

Really should be seeing McIntyre get pitch time. His match sharpness isn't going to come from bench warming. He doesn't add any pace to the back line, but he adds a ton of commitment. The meaty challenges he puts in are the sort that can really lift a side and the crowd. And it'd show the others you can put in a bit of fight.

Meite should never have started against Posh, clearly not ready for it so no surprise he's back on the bench.

It's a side that should be winning comfortably, but won't

Wouldn’t be surprising if we had promised Chelsea a minimum number of games to avoid having to pay a share of his astronomical wages.

There is no way the EFL would have sanctioned an agreement like that.

Doubt Chelsea would care really. They've spunked over £60m in transfer fees and wages on him. What a ridiculous waste of money that is

As in the EFL wouldn't sanction it because it would open up the possibility of us paying more wages than our agreed business plan.

Really impressed with the PNE sound guy, decent 80s stuff. Human League, Depeche Mode. Why do we get some crappy cardboard modern chart shit
