Gilkes at Full back?

Why not? Gilksy played there a good few times. Would be an ideal wing back these days, only player that could be thwarting a breakaway at one end and a split second later be delivering a pin point cross to no-one in particular as he’d outrun everyone.

Did you not see Gilksey try and tackle? Defending was not his strong point.

Best season? 94/95 and for me the best football I've seen at played Reading was under McGhee then continued on by Quinn & Gooding. A regular since 86/87 (first season in Division 2) although I saw three lower division games : 75/76 (v Northampton & Lincoln, both taken to by my Uncle) and one in 84 (v Aldershot) before that.

1 Death
2 Bernal (my fave Rdg player. All Action)
3 Richardson
4 Beavon
5 Wood
6 Bowman
7 Osborn
8 Bremner (fave Reading goal v Villa, Lg Cup '86)
9 Dixon
10 Friday
11 Senior
Sub : Quinn

Honourable mentions: Crown & Horrix.

Is that based on his win ratio of 100% so far?

If you don’t include Matthew Upson and Nicky Shorey in your side, you’re deluded….or haven’t seen Reading since the 2000s.

First game was in 1993.

Shaka

Murty - Ingimarsson - Upson - Shorey
Little - Sidwell - Sigurdsson - Gilkes
Kitson - Doyle

Only one I'm even vaguely tempted to swap out is Doyle for Forster.
