I would personally like to thank all our supporters for their patience last season and throughout the summer so far.

Mr Dai personally attended both home and away matches on many occasions last season and, as a supporter of this football club himself, he was very disappointed to see the campaign end in relegation. It is not what we planned, it is not what we hoped for, it is not what we expected.

Following the six points taken from our total, our season quickly became another very difficult one for the players, the staff and most importantly our fans. And that is why this update has to begin with a note of sincere gratitude to our loyal supporters!

The process to appoint a new manager has been underway for some time now, but we fully recognise how important a decision this is for the club - for next season and beyond. And for that reason, the process has been comprehensive and has naturally taken time. Mr Dai himself has played and continues to play an active part in the search and appointment of the next manager…a process we fully believe is now rightly reaching its conclusion.

When we said we would fix the issues of the past and build this club back to a level at which we all want to see it compete, we knew it was going to be a long-term project. We hoped to avoid serious setbacks like last season, but despite the very best efforts of so many, this was not possible.

As a club, financially we continue to face a number of significant challenges and our owner, Mr Dai, is working very hard to resolve those issues to ensure the future of Reading Football Club is stable, successful, progressive and positive.

Our short-term goal is now clear though…to appoint the right man for the role of first team manager and to rebuild a squad capable of competing for a return to the Championship!

Long term, I am confident we have the right people at the club to achieve our ambitions and fully correct the mistakes that were made many years ago.

But, as always, we will need our fans. Thank you for your support, your faith in us and your love for your club.

Dayong Pang, CEO

Says nothing.

NathStPaul Wilder deal is now off so please brace for more bed wetting.

In fairness to the bedwetters, they can look down from their incontinence-pad protected high horse, and say at least some of their doom-laden predictions are currently looking more likely than those who were expecting managers to be queuing up for the job, and Reading set for a promotion challenge.

Quite a lot can, and no doubt will, change between now and start of the season though.

I don't understand why anyone is goading so called 'bed wetters'. The club is in their blood, they are concerned about what's happening and our demise. If you don't like those posters on Twitter then don't use it, simples. Don't slate their opinion or reactions. You may be calm about it but other people can voice their views.

Personally, without setting myself on fire I am calm but it's hard to feel anything but worried about what's going on upstairs. It won't help the players either.

They are perfectly entitled to their views, just as we are perfectly entitled to think they're a bedwetter for their views

I agree and I don't agree.

I think the title "bedwetters" is justified when looking back over recent weeks and even years when fans continually, daily bang on about Wilder, or "announce xyz" day-after-day. Or the ones that write a player off and vilify then before they've even kicked a ball.

I also would categorise those who somehow blame Liam Moore for some of these issues. He was offered a contract, and that contract includes a salary, it includes treatment, probably insurance of some kind, access to physios, facililties, coaches, all the other stuff. Why should he voluntarily turn away from all of that just because he's injured and just because the club overstretched themselves.

I do agree though that I'm deeply concerned and I don't see anything to be positive about at this point. So those who are concerned or replying to genuine meaningful news updates I would say have a good point.

Reading fans need to stop embarassing themselves talking about protesting. We all know we have no ability whatsoever to do this. We'd be lucky to summon 100 fans for a protest. If we did they'd be a bunch of weedy kids, a mixture wearing stone island and some wearing Reading shirts all standing around wondering what to do.

Meanwhile anyone who even has any influence is probably in China or far away, and wouldn't have a clue any of it is going on.

Edit: Compare Reading's pathetic "protest" from 1-2 seasons ago vs Derby's and other clubs. Just give it up and stick to twitter

What happens, happens. There's naff all we can do to actually change anything unless we can get several billion quid together and enter negotiations to buy the club.

It's the kneejerk reaction to any and every announcement or non announcement that irks me. We now have something concrete in a statement from the EFL, but as fans, there really is fcuk all we can do so I just don't see the point of the wailing and gnashing of teeth. Unfortunately, as with life, shit happens and you just get on with it. You work with what you've got and if that means taking a step back to take 2 steps forward, so be it.

Really don't see the point in a demonstration especially when the club have til 29th June to answer to charges.

Yes but recently she's been eyeing a two-bed maisonette in Burghfield.

I'm confused. Are we in actual trouble? Or have we just become the next basket-case club?

I think there's a bit of irrationality from fans but it feels worrying.
