Schards#2 I think in terms of the quality of the football, that was the worst game I have seen in 20+ years

Hi Schards, you're getting quite a few mentions on AE at the moment with regards to your twitter activity, just though you might like to set the record straight on there...

I'd say this was a one off until proven otherwise. I have no issues with using players in different positions than what is considered their natural one, as players can adapt and it can work where players perform better/well in a different position.
I think a lot of it comes down to the individual though. It shouldn't be frowned upon to have some players playing outside their best positions, although it also has to be effective for them and the team as well. If it's clearly not working, then obviously it needs to be changed.
Bindon RB was definitely a square peg in a round hole which didn't work. And we had two alternatives on the bench, with another in the full squad.
Azeez doesn't really have a nailed down position, but he started upfront so that's more a roughly carved peg in a round hole.
Rushesha also got brought on a RW which he absolutely isn’t, just because he's a willin lg runner with RB experience.
Sometimes emergencies happen. Some players are utility players who can play in multiple positions. But we really should stick to specialists unless there is a very good reason not to. And there wasn't v Burton.
I do think we read into specific positions too much, it's not so much their starting position on paper, but role in the team. Now I didn't watch the game so can't really comment, however Bindon's role may have been to play as a CB, in a RB position. So we attack down the left side, allowing the LB to get forward whilst Bindon tucks round to make a 3rd defender, for example.
Azeez again, he can be used as a CF or a wide player, but I suspect what he will be asking to do will be playing to his strengths in the team. That doesn't always work and doesn't always look like it was ever tried, but it's not always that easy. I.e. Azeez is quick, so I can imagine we will look to utilise his pace either out wide or as a CF.
It's still early days for Selles and I suspect there is still a good amount of experimentation ongoing with the players. Especially with young players where their traits can be adapted to a certain position that they don't actually play.

Point 1, it was not. That is not what was happening.
