windermereROYAL Somebody said Femi did a lap of honour on his own after the game, I`d already gone. make of it what you will.

Yes he did. But I think it was because right after the final whistle he went over to his wife(?) and new born baby first, the other players did their lap and he was just out of sync. But they all seemed together at the end when Mbengue did his usual to 1871.

So hopefully people managing to make 5 out of 2+2 again!

What happens in the remaining days of the transfer window will likely create some initial impressions of our new ownership.

Brogue All that with no aseez knibbs or yiadom in the starting lineup.

Kelvin was excellent MOTM

It's fairly easy to see one of the main reasons why our players are improving so much. Selles is quick to praise players' performances but at the same time still encourages further improvement.

In the post match interview he spoke about Kelvin's great performance, commented on how he is improving on his tracking back/recovery runs and defensive duties and said that he did this well for 65 minutes. However, the next step was for him to do that for a full 90 minutes. That also helps explain why he was substituted.

I haven’t read through all this so it might have been mentioned already. I thought Elliott was excellent yesterday and he has improved massively since last season. I know it’s still early days, but I am sure Champ clubs will be circling soon.

Interesting. That's exactly why I thought he'd subbed him.

It seemed so obvious but Dim was baffled.

He looks stronger and more aware of the need to shield the ball.

Does anyone know why Ehibhatiomhan puts his hand over his face in celebration?
Firewall perhaps?

There are several players who are improved and could attract higher league interest, it's great. I think Bindon and Elliott have the highest ceiling in the squad, but it's not outlandish to say Ehibhatiomhan, Mbengue, Savage or Craig.

Hound Which is the problem playing your key players in a rubbish cup match. Will be a big miss

Team fine otherwise. Thought Craig was excellent vs Brum at rb

Happy to see Rushesha fit as well

Selles said that he got injured in training.

Is anyone else really impressed with how well Selles has integrated youth players into the first team? Azeez, Kelvin, Camara, Dorset etc. I know we only recently signed Craig, so probably not fair to call him our youth player. And the fact we have another generation of young players starting to get involved too, with Abrefa, Garcia and Wareham all being at least on the bench.

Can't help but think that the imposed embargo has actually forced us into relying on the academy which seems to be bearing more fruit than the last time we were allowed to pay fees for players.

A massive IF I know, but if we could get promoted with this squad of players, I think we could have the same impact as Coventry and Sunderland did when they went back up to the Champ. Obviously, that would mean keeping Selles and strengthening the squad.

I think a lot of clubs stagnate in the Champ. They chase the Premiership dream and eventually find themselves fighting at the wrong end of the table. Saying that, something needs to change with clubs coming down from the Prem having such a huge financial advantage.

Wrexham are nothing to fear at all. They deserve respect and will be a difficult opponent but we're capable of going up there and winning

At your peril, Wrexham will be a really tough test we will be lucky to come away with a point. I can see Wrexham at least making the playoffs.

Wrexham will be a tough test and much like the Birmingham game where it was a good time to play them due to the relegation blues along with them fielding a host of new players, Wrexham will be the opposite.....a double promotion bounce plus mostly the same side i think, so a tough time to play them and their fans will be right up for it.
On the other hand, we have a super fit, young hungry well drilled team playing good football and picking up good points!! I actually think we are better suited to playing away from home with our fast paced counter attacking style of play and I'm pretty sure Wrexham will be wary of us also.
An away point will be good and keeps the points ticking over which is all we ask!!

Wrexham are now above Reading after a stunning 0-0 draw at title Favorites Bolton, it really will be a massive test. If only we had Parky!

Judging by our shape yesterday and last season we’re going to find it difficult to break out of the high press.

In possession at the back no one drops into midfield as they are either too deep (wing) or too high (the rest).

Need to sort that out as it happened too much yesterday.

Is Dim still saying that Selles clearly doesn’t rate Kelvin, as he said last season every time he didn’t start or got substituted?

I think Mick is playing that tune.

He was musing whether Ehibhatiomhan would have started if Azeez was fully fit. Overlooking they play on different flanks.

Dim has put him down as his predicted player of the season so won't see or say anything negative to do with him for a good few weeks.

Yeah, Gooding’s insistence that Selles doesnt rate him despite converting him into a wide forward position so he can fit him into the starting line up (rather than just be Smith’s back up ) is one of the more bizarre takes the commentary crew have.

I used to be a fan of Mick, but I think he's spent too much time with Dellor. We could really use a completely different commentary team. Including Williams, who only cares about stirring the pot.

I agree.

I think most of the time they’re too lazy to do their research on the other teams etc. It feels more about them than the actual match at times. The commentators who covered the Cardiff friendly were excellent.

100%.

They all care so deeply (which although being the least we can ask, is good) but it's all so old hat now.

BANG BANG BANG would be for the best.
