Simple answer is we do not have a true rival in the Everton/Liverpool or Brighton/Palace mould.

As mentioned Oxford and Swindon hate each other first, and Aldershot and us have not played since they became a new club.

SpaceCruiser Oxford and Swindon cos they are local! Aldershot can't be our rivals cos we haven't played them since they went bust.

but Wycombe are far closer than Swindon and no-one cares about them, Spacey.

Oxford would put us second, Swindon probably third or fourth, after Oxford and the Bristol clubs (there was a survey on this which is occasionally posted on here).

I guess our order would be

Aldershot
Swindon (certainly historically)
Oxford
Bournemouth/BHA/Brentford????

We haven't played Wycombe as many times as we have played Oxford or Swindon. Oh and another thing, we were playing Swindon long before Oxford came into the league.

while I'm at it, I'd say least popular teams amongst RFC fans are:

1. Chelsea (very recent phenomenon, but heartfelt)
2. Wolves (bad experience with fans)
3. Aldershot etc, see above post.

Although disagreeing with me is not allowed.

Welcome to the world of hobnob oi john/Rushian! Ask an apparently factual question and suddenly it's turned around to an opinionated one, which in turn Spacey turns into a petty squabble because he's right and nobody else is!!

Pick from the following teams who we have history with:

Aldershot
Swindon
Oxford (who I hate most)
Brentford
Bournemouth
Bristol C
Bristol R
Wolves
Chelsea (only very recent history, although I can see that festering for a long time)
Brighton

Generally the most popularly hated teams are Swindon, Oxford, Aldershot and Wolves.

It's the impression and implication sir...communication isn't only in the written word.

I shall no longer reply to this.

handbags_harris Oxford (who I hate most)

How do you manage to post this disgusting word.
When I try and include the work 'oxf*rd' in one of my posts it looks like this --> oxf*rd

'We did ask the Reading fans one more question "Who are your main rivals?" but it's resulted in all-out warfare on their forum so we thought it best to beat a hasty retreat before the watercannons were deployed. Take your pick from Aldershot, Oxford, Swindon, Chelsea, Wycombe, Bournemouth, Brentford, the two Bristols, Brighton, Wolves ...'

Good stuff Rushian. Well-balanced, funny, factual. Refreshing lack of arrogance.

Cheers.

Rivalrys have to go 2 ways. Oxford and Swindon hate each other more then us. The only teams I know of that really hate us are Aldershot and Bournemouth.
