Well it wasn't Gordon neat!
Never saw him play as i'm much too young, but he once strangled a pigeon that flew into Elm Park during the Aldershot 'Derby' game.

Robin Friday was charm personified, as he apologised for pissing in my pint, at the Boars head. This was after I had drunk some of it!

After crashing through several tables(spilling several pints) up at the Highwayman the night before a game Robin staggers back to his feet and apologized profusely offering pints all round.Made up for it by playing a blinder hours later. Top banana.

2 world wars, 1 world cup Steve Swales (sp?) was a decetn down to earth lad. When he had a great spell of performance we had a ncie chat where he played it down massively saying he was just doing his best and it was the whole team which was doing well.

LOL he was a oxf*rd - punched me in Utopia once when he was off his face.

Murty is obviously pretty good with the PR, likewise Archie back in the day was sound as anything, used to live down the road from me.

Boom boom boom you got done by Swales

I would have had him one-on-one

Ok then maybe he was a ****.

But wasn't he, like, a skinny 4'10" guy with girlie hair?

My wife has made various sexist comments about Kevin Doyle's appearance, especially in shorts.

The 17 Bus Curo and Butler were both very forthcoming at training many years ago, I would hope Mrs B and CN1F still have the pics.

I chatted to him for ages at a 100th birthday party, a day or too before the walsall playoff final.

Top man.

I have also met Shane Long and Doyle in Risa on the night when we won the Championship title.
But both were quality.[/quote]

I was there too that night and they both seemed more than happy to talk and have their pictures taken with fans and thought it was great that Long got involved with the dancing! fantastic night all round!

Also got to meet and talk to Murty and Marcus at bbc south awards night in december and they seemed really great guys, more than happy to chat and have picture taken too!!

That one thing i love about our team, they always seem happy to talk to the fans, they never make you feel as if you are bothering them! Great team all round!!! v down to earth

Has been said many times before but Marcus is top bloke, always good for a chat and was very patient while my daughter made him move 2/3 times to get his picture cos of the light.....

Bobby Convey was chatty too and similar to Marcus was very friendly, maybe it's a cultural thing....

Sidwell & Shorey I found clammed up a bit, no smile (even fake) and no real effort to converse (was all one way) - strange, I'm not used to getting that from guys!

I guess we have to remember that whilst it's the first time for us going up to speak to them in public, it's probably the 20th for them....goes with the territory I suppose....

Think Kits is OK when he has his "work" head on, but my son bumped into him in M&S the day after he was injured at the start of the season. He went up and congratulated him on his goal and Kits completely blanked him! I don't think it's much to ask for players to at least be courteous to the fans who do, after all, pay their wages.

I've never spoken to a Reading player before. Although I certainly wouldn't wanted to have bumped into Michael Meaker - who was an incredible tart.

Nicest Reading player? Without doubt, Billy Whitehurst. Having said that, I am in fact Steve Moran's wife.
