1960 I had to stand on the wide open terraces of the Tilehurst end corner because I had a little son who wouldn't have seen a thing on the South Bank. So instead I couldn't hear a bloddy thing as the PA was so crap.
Did you sit him on the concrete foundations of the floodlight pylon? That's where my 2 started watching. Sadly they were never old enough to sample the delights of the South Bank. Still, at least they had a few years at EP so they can fully appreciate where we've come from !
