Spacecruiser Ricky Newman's hit from 35 years at Meadow Lane

Another good shout, and another great goal. Wish I was there to see it.

Er, I didn't write that. ;)

I thought it was too articulate for you...!!!

Gilkes away at Chrlton in around 94/95, I think.
Cureton away at Brentford.
Blakey away at Plymouth.
Gilkes Smod Cup Final.
Parkinson at home to Milwall, last day of the 98/99 season? Not particulary spectacular, but a favourite of mine.
Lita at home to Palace and West Brom.
THAT Friday goal, though unfortuantely I never got to see it, it must go on the list just for being so highly regarded.

Andy Hughes at Molenieux. Was a fcuking scorcher but as it was Hughes, it was probably a cross so doesn't count.

Definitely the best for me - mostly because it was Hughesy that did it.

Has anyone mentioned Martin Hicks away at Palace in the mid 80s - the game when Colin Baillie headbutted Wright/Bright?

A screamer from 40 yards.

Another very good call...and another goal that doesn't get the credit it deserves.

Great memories of "Ole Ole Ole Ole Jimmy Quinn Quinn Quinn". His goals were top drawer.

Keith Scotts goal was pacey, strong and you could argue about the quality of the opposition but it was such a lovely surprise - one that had to be seen to be appreciated.

Adie`s headers were always very satisfying when he used to rise like a salmon above the penalty spot and bullet header them in. 10 out of 10 satisfaction - dunk.

Rougiers against Oxford at home in the rain. Have I got that right?

Didn`t Asaba score a cracker (I know that`s hard to believe) against Sunderland at home when we beat them 4-0 (he got a brace that day I think).

Personally, more recent goals have meant even much more. Doyle sliding it past Robinson against Tottenham was just amazing in terms of the whole package by that I mean score line, opposition, our performance and result.

Same can be said about Sidwells beautifully slotted goal against Villa. That was so good to witness - great intelligent build up and what a cool finish. For me personally, that goal will always sum up the first RFC season in the Premier league. Sh*t on the Villa? No we just outclassed them like so many others....

Forster at the MadStad against Ipswich - from out wide on the right he curled it around the keeper and inside the far post.

Exquisite!

Just a few more...

Chalky White's diving header in the last minute from the edge of the box against Bristol Rovers in a 3-2 win at Elm Park.

Jerry Williams dipping volley against Chesterfield in a 4-2 win back in 1985, during the record breaking start.

Dean Horrix (RIP) over the head/shoulder from the edge of the box on New Years Day 1986, against Gillingham.

Billy Whitehurst's against Bolton from around the centre circle, if Beckham scored it now they would say it was a touch of genius.

Jimmy Quinn's late winner against Plymouth in the 1993/4 season.

Did Mark White score two of those, because he certainly scored in the last few minutes with a diving header against Bristol Rovers in the 13 motch winning streak ? That was 3-2 as well.

I remember one Jamie Cureton long range effort in the closing minutes of a game, possibly against Sheff Wednesday.... anyway, the away fans described it as hit and hope but that shows what they know

IIRC Mr Angry put them right on it.

Anyway, that and Bobby Convey's solo run and shoot v Millwall are probably the two best Reading goals I've seen, well maybe Lee Nogan's Wembley goal as well.

Brighton, which they won 2-1, or Burnley which we won 3-0.

Best goals I've seen when I've been to the game:

Convey's at Burnley
Curo's at Oldham
Salako's at Bury (The last two both in Div 2 promotion winning season)
