Royal Lady his back up is stronger than what?

I dunno, I guess what I mean is I have more confidence in them this time around (and I am not alone...) Would like a new keeper though but I've no idea who, and Coppell seems to be happy with Marcus and his understudies.

Anyway, we're far from being weaker in that position than we were last year.

Schards#2 Spacey - Convey hasn't played a competitive game for around 9 months. Assuming he is now fully recovered it'll be months before he's fully up to speed.

What utter rot. Looking at soccerbase, he has played a part in 5 competitive games this year. And why do you think it would take a player months to get up to speed once fit?

And anyway, we've got Stephen Hunt to cover for him.

Schards#2 Convey and Kitson were fit at the start of last season, hence the comment "we START with a weaker squad than last year"

We start with 1 fewer winger than we did last year, I think Bikey will prove an adequate replacement for Sonko. Hopefully Copps will try and sign another winger, but if he doesn't I wouldn't say we were massively weaker this August.

He didn't say we'd start with a massively weaker side, he said we'd start with a weaker side. HTH.

I didn't say that he did! And I don't necessarily agree anyway.

Because, quite simply, it does.

Have you ever seen a player return from a long term injury before? They may be fit to play but they never have the match sharpness until they've played a good few games.

Yes, but I'd imagine that'd be a couple of weeks, not months.

Indeed, we'll probably be in a better position to form an opinion in a couple of weeks too!

Spacey, I used to be a brilliant footballer but I ruptured my achilles tendon and 7 years later I'm substitute for the FFF team. It takes a good while to get back to match fitness.

I think Convey would be a lot more professional than you! ;)

Woodcote Royal I'll leave the doom and gloom to those who stilll want to w@nk over the average Sidwell :? ....................................

You are fast becoming a caricature of yourself. I think that the only person who w@nks over Sidwell as you so typically delicately put it is Krystell

Try looking in the mirror

There is only one person on this board/ bored who is obsessed with Chelsea's Steve Sidwell, and as you say

Try looking in the mirror.

Personally I feel we'll finish around 12-14th. We missed our chance to make Europe last season and push on. With some disappointing activity in the transfer market so far this summer theres no way we'll match or better last seasons 8th place.

No danger of relegation, no hope of Europe.
