PEARCEY
Alan Partridge Bikey started poorly - never easy coming off the bench into the team but he grew as the game went on. Thankfully Sonko can't be selected for the next games (s)? so Bikey or Duberry have to come in.

I bet its Duberry

unfortunately i bet u're right

Worries me when he loses concentration, but he's got all the attributes to be a top class player, which he showed today.

Delighted he got the goals today..how crucial they were.
He is by no means perfect and does lose concentration. However he really seems to care about the club and his passion and enthusiasm allied to his ability will outweigh his lapses.
This is the first time he has ever had a decent run in the side which will give him the chance to gel into the back four. He is also still young and will continue to improve.
His arrival in the team along with Rosenior has co-incided with our revival. I am just pleased he is finally at long last being given a chance. He deserves it.

Arch First half he wasn't great, to be honest. Wayward passes, unnecessary dicking around.

i think the king of wayward passes and unnecessary dicking around has got to be oster. bikey is a rough diamond. but surely he's more useful at the back? not sure i would want to see him in midfield regularly. we need to buy a proper midfield general. someone who can smash a few kneecaps and pop a few goals in. steve sidwell. he'd do.

I had Bikey down as first and last goalscorer!

Unfortunately it was for the Man Utd game at the start of the season

 Love the twisted expressions on the faces of the Chelsea fans and Hunt's mid-air dive. Wonder how many of them would act like that face-to-face with Bikey?

'Bikey's been a breath of fresh air'
Posted on: Sat 15 Mar 2008

Kevin Dillon has praised centre half Andre Bikey for his vital contribution to our back-to-back victories.

Bikey came into the team and Middlesbrough, and he followed up a clean sheet at the Riverside with another shutout at home to Manchester City.

He will line up with Ivar Ingimarsson away to Liverpool today, and he has good memories of Anfield after scoring there in the Carling Cup last season.

Dillon said, "He's been a breath of fresh air since he came back from Africa.

"He went straight into the team, the key to any successful team is the back four and Bikey was outstanding again against City. Him and Ivar were real leaders in the team.

"I thought the full backs were good as well, Rosenior got forward at every occasion, Shorey was Shorey, normal low maintenance. And the keeper as well!

"That's the work that Wally has put in. He's had to start again, Steve's taken the defence apart and then put a new one back together again. Wally's worked with them and they've done well."

From the rfc site but you can see it all makes sense....

I reckon he's a quick learner too. Anyone notice the similarity of Bikey losing his defender and the way TORRES lost his defender last week ?? BRILLIANT strength for the second

He would have had a decent shout for a penalty if he hadn't scored the second. The defender had both arms around him. Didn't seem to stop Bikey though, as you said, great strength

Agreed. Perhaps Jaidi would do better watching the ball rather than the defender !!

OK, sticking my neck out and at the risk of being accused of sacrilege, could this guy develop into a Parky type hero for us?

He is very clearly and visibly committed to the club and team, even when on the bench. He is also a 110% player, always certain to show passion and give his all. Not lacking in ability, he also has an element of showman about him, as demonstrated by his gymnastics, which are pretty awe-inspiring for such a large guy!

to be fair, with his headbut, and steward pushing, he was nearly a propern hero in my eyes anyway!
typical reading player, plucked from a second class league, absorbed everything SC, WD, KD have taught him, and now showing just what a player he can be.

what a feckin hero
