Take solice in that 1 game, Reading's big day.

Reading 0 West Ham 3
Reading 0 Bolton 2
bolton 3 Reading 0
Fulham 3 Reading 1
etc

Reading 17th and sinking. No they haven't been good enough.[/quote]

Bloddy hell, that's a cheery outlook, god forbid if any of our team read this board.

I agree that it is the truth, just believe that if fans are thinking it, and voicing it, it will seep into the players, and then we are fecked.

You mean as apposed the Lack of Pride and Passion coming from players and into the fans - in which case we are still FECKED!

Blue and White Toucan As bad as we played Saturday we will still pick up 18 points between now and the end of the season.

Derby, Fulham and Birmingham will all go down.
and Laurel Park U14 Tornadoes will go on to win the Bundesliga ! No as awful as it was Saturday I agree but think 36 pts 16th.

Probably more passion from the Tornadoes I would think.

Armadillo Roadkill Reading FC - where the fans are shouting "you don't know what you're doing" at a linesman who made a quite brilliant decsion to let Bolton's second goal stand. Because it was nowhere near offside. What an embarassingly unknowledgable crowd. I heard the poor bloke called a kunt all afternoon by myopic little pr1cks with no idea about the game.

The guy next to me said following a throw in by a Bolton player to a colleague "He must be offside?"

For goodness sake!!

from where i was sat it looked more marginal than it was, the penalty also looked very tame from where i sat, hence the vitriol.
it was different with the benefit of replays on MOTD-totally vindicated their decisions,
it also helped deflect any abuse from our own poor team performance, which i usually leave till after the game.

plus ill always call the 50-50 shouts as going our way
officials will get abuse even if they make 100% correct decisions, just against us
thats football

Huntley & Palmer
Arch Trying their best and playing their best are two very different things. I think some players are overtrying, getting over anxious and making silly mistakes. I never get the feeling players aren't trying (not like I often did with Seol, for example). We need to get back the free-flowing instinctive football of two seasons ago. That team looked as though they didn't need to try.

We aren't being given the chance to play that football by the opposition like we did last season. Other teams have cottoned on to our tactics and methods, we don't seem to have adapted and refreshed our play with any new options. I think that is where we are going wrong

I think it's simpler than that. I think we just took our foot off the gas after staying up early last season, and just lowered our standards and got a bit slack.

We play basic 4-4-2 that English teams have been playing for 40 years or so - there's not exactly anything to work out about us tactically.

I think we've also lacked the enthusiasm of last season. Last year playing Aston Villa was great. This year they are just another team.

But a large chunk of it is that we lost half of our midfield - and our best half of it as well. We have enough about us at home, even when not playing well, to pick up points against teams who are poor or not up for it, but we haven't met many of those lately.

We have to get back to performances like the Newcastle one I think it was, the Coppell referred to as being like seeing an old friend again.

Alan Partridge Reality really hit home for a lot of people yesterday i'd have thought. Sadly some of us saw this months ago.

Agreed. The West Ham defeat back in September set out my concerns and fears for this season. We looked totally lost.
