strap Absolutely, unashamedly, sobbed my heart out at the end of the Derby game that crowned us as champs.

Slumped in my seat shaking with emotion as 40 years of supporting this wondeful club finally took its toll as I realsied, finally, we would be in the big time.

My two sone, who only have 10 years of this crap, just hugged me and didn't take they piss. They just knew it was something big.

THAT'S why the likes of Jonny oxf*rd impOSTER wind me up so oxf*rd much. They just don't CARE!!

I wholly identify with everything you say (although my daughter - a bit older than your sons - was crying too....)

strap
RG30 Your rants against Oster are rather boring now

Just like his attempts at wing play.

He's got a very simple way of shuttingme up - play some decent football for a change, make me eat my words. Nothing would give me greater pleasure.

Shame there's going to no chance of that ever happening.

TBH he set up the first today and almost scored himself after everyone were calling for him to be brought off inside the first 15 minutes.. maybe your eating your words now??

Yes back at the first game I ever went to in c.1972 Wolves v Arsenal when Bob Wilson was in goal and Ray Kennedy, John Radford, Charlie George, George Graham, Derek Dougan, Phil Parkes(not QPR Phil Parkes) were playing. I supported the Arsenal as well as Reading in those days and cried as Wolves scored 5 goals in the second half and it snowed.
The worst I felt after that was the Bolton play off final. I felt stunned that day and for a fair few days after....kept saying to myself that I could not believe we could have lost that game..but I cant remember crying.

Slightly poignant moment on that is seeing Matt Gadsby celebrating with Byfield for the winner.

RIP.

I actually wiped away a tear as I watched Reading walk out at Wembley for the Simod Cup final. Unbelievable seeing them there.

My last game at Elm Park.

Millwall v London All-stars during the minutes silence for Deano.

Leicester away for most of the time after Doyle scored with the anticipation and hope.

At home to Wolves after winning 13 matches straight. Wolves were bottom of the table - we should have walked it to take the outright record for continuous wins at the start of a season - beating Man Utd's haul. We drew 2 - 2 and played like dogs in front of 13,000 + of which 10,000 were plastics even then!

Maybe once. A game against Millwall at Elm Park in about 1980.

IIRC we won 5 - 0 but, after goal 3 or 4, the Millwall scum started launching their small change and I got smacked just above my right eye.

Bastards!!
