Southbank Old Boy
ShrewsandRoyals Well done Coppell. Given the recent committment shown by Doyle and Bikey in very difficult circumstances, Sonko and Fae should hang their heads in shame.

If Joe Public refused to follow instructions from their boss at work in a bog standard job, they would be sacked for gross misconduct in a significant proportion of cases.

Although with £2.5m assests it's a little bit more unlikely an employer would do it!

French International Dhorasoo was sacked twice for refusing to play in reserve games.

PSG did it first to him.....http://edition.cnn.com/2006/SPORT/football/10/11/france.dhorasoo/

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe I like the Sonks can do one attitude of everyone.

Who we gonna replace him with? As shite as he has been and now it seems there's more to it than fitness issues, he's our only Premiership quality center half. Bikey's getting there, Ivar's passing it and Cisse isn't good enough.

We all know how difficult it is to sign players of Premiership quality, can we let go the few players who are?

Not saying Sonk's should just be forgiven, but we can't just right him off when we can't do any better.

Fact is that he's now not going to feature in the last week of the season. We'll then be able to take a step back, see what division we are in and plan for then.

He hasn't looked Prem quality since he's come back and I think it is now more a mental issue than a fitness one, and this incident could be a further show of that.

I'm not advocating just getting rid like that but if in the summer we are able to get in another CB or two of equal or better quality then he will have a lot of work to do to win his place back and certainly win the fans back over.

I'm not saying it can't be done, just that it isn't quite comparable to Jane Smith getting the sack for refusing to do the filing!

I don't think Dhorasoo was a particularily valuable assest in the way that Sonko (one of our top earners) and Fae (our record signing) are to Reading. Office juniors are two a penny, players willing to play for Reading are a little harder to find.

As pissed off as I am by their behaviour I can imagine Coppell taking them back after the dust settles. He's not a strict disciplinarian and he's given players second chances in the past and I have visions of him saying they've learnt by their mistakes, apologiesed to the squad and it's all behind us blah blah.

I just think people are forgetting how much we strugle to sign players.

If we go down then he will leave, if we stay up can we afford to let him go?

I still think a right Sonko is better than any other center half we could get and to be honest with Coppell in charge, it's the case even more so.

If we stay up possibly.....he's not first choice anymore really and if we can find a replacement then he will go.

He won't be bombed out without one in my mind.

I suspect that for Fae, having come in as our record signing with high expectations on his part and the club's, it's the realisation that he is just not up to Premiership standard and is unlikely to get games. For Sonko, having been first choice centre back for quite a while until his injury, it's the realisation that he has slipped down the pecking order and is going to have to step up a couple of gears to have any chance of getting his place back.

Frustrating for both men, but absolutely no excuse for their behaviour. It displays an unacceptable attitude problem, a lack of even the most basic professionalism and a childish mentality. Coppell is correct in his decision and IMO both should be given their marching orders. We can do without them.

Fae has been the biggest mistake in the clubs history

Sonko has let the club down - can't see why he did this as he never played a minute in the ACoNs

At least he won't play in the next 2 games as he has cost us so many goals this season

!oxf*rd!

Thou Voice was interested to know why should they play in reserve gamesss?

Stephen Cockleshells has his favoriatessss as they have not made the grade or are clearly not wearing the green, white and orange emblems of the leprichan community they they are royleee screwed.

I foreseeeee this casuing more problems at the Emperors O-Ring and little or nooo positives coming from this.

As another poster with foresight of Thou Voice has posted, what happens when we are in the fizzzy pop league and the man that is callled sssuperman leeaves?

Stephen Cockleshells should look at howw he personally has wronged the GREAT SONKO. I remember the day he was injurjed last season, he went down with pain and grielf and YET the one that is known as the balding guy, Stephen Cockleshells refused to sub him and he continued to play throughout his pain and injury before he went down again. THEN he was subbed.

GREAT SONKO losing his form and obviously will to play in the sub-standard reserve game that other players like Lita had beeeen banished to had no hope. Why the hell should he give up his dignatiy to be treated the way he is?

IF only he was froom lepricorn land, he would have the whole of RFC at his feeet. Another injustice...

What an utter utter shambles and quite frankly, there can be no way back for either player at this club. They've let their teammates, the management staff at RFC down and the fans. I'm especially dissapointed with Sonko's attitude, who has been with the club for a couple of years and should know what to expect.

Even if your recollection was true, it would provide no reason whatever for Sonko to be excused reserve duty. It's nothing to do with dignity; if you aren't in the squad, you still have to keep fit and try to find some of form.

If it's good enough for the club captain, it's good enough for Sonko.

Ahhh yes, but Mr Murty is only towing the line duee to his length and his demands of a testomonial or howeverr it's spelt.

Thou Voice belives that he has had a decade of service to the club and if he throws a fit, he won't be able to bask in the glory like a wet fish in a pool foor his long service award.

Mr Murty also has his age against him, unlikes SUPER SONKO.
