Are you sure he won't use any of the team for the Reserves tonight against Wednesday?

So long as Bikey, Kebe and N Hunt feature I'll be pleased with the team. :)

I didn't see the game on Saturday but reading the comments and looking at what team Coppell put out I would play the following Royals for a big Home game that we must win to keep our credibility and slight fear factor (for the oppo when visiting the MS) in tact.

Hanny
Rosenior (only cos Murty isn't fit)
Pearce (needs to keep building his confidence)
Ingi
Armstrong

S Hunt (LM)
Bikey (Must give our midfield some bite, Bikey to me is perfect for this and could be the next Sidwell, but with more skilll on the ball)
Harper (I'd play him for 45 minutes, if he's contibuted gr8, if not I'd sub him with Cisse/Karacan/Henry
Kebe (Still a bit annoying, but need a goal maybe to ignite his season and show he's got an end product)

Doyle
N Hunt (defo deserves a start after Long's constant no shows

Fed, Kelly, Cisse, Karacan, Long on the bench.

Alan Partridge
brendywendy how has he been managed badly?
i think hes been fairly dealt with,
and local as he was, cox wasnt that great, long has scored goals at this, and prem level
etc

i know hes been shit recently, but his touch never used to be that bad!

Shane Long has 3 goals at Championship level, all against Derby.

simon Cox is well on course to hit over 20 in League 1, and he is younger than Long. He was never given a chance here, had he been given Long's chances or Lita's for that matter, I personally believe Cox would outscore both of them, in particiular Long.

Young player like Long need to play, we are seeing the consequence of a player having literally 1 or 2 games to cement a place in the first team and if he doesn't he'll go back to 10minute cameos. He is 21 now? Been here for 3 years and probably has less than 15 full games under his belt, as soon as Reading were promoted Long should have been out on loan for a season to a CCC club so he could continue his development properly. HE wasn't even remotely proven at CCC level and then he was 4th choice in the PRem for 2 years. It's not helping anyone.

Now we have him 3 years older with little or no more experience than 3 years ago and still with no questions answered.

What do we know about Cox? That he can score for fun in League 1 in a pretty poor side, when Cox leaves Swindon it will be for a hell of a lot more than £200,000.

It was shocking management with regards to both of them.

I partially disagree with the bits in bold.

IMO, Cox wouldn't outscore either of them unless Lita was in poor form for an entire season... oh wait.

Long was fourth choice in the Prem for a lot less than that. Kitson was effectively out of the picture for half our first season (I know Long was technically fourth choice) so Long moved up in the order. Then Lita's form dropped and Long started starting games, until Seol was moved up front.

The Shane Long we signed from Cork wouldn't have scored 5 PL goals given the chances this Shane Long has.

HTH.

What is this fixation with Simon Cox? My old nan could score 20 plus in League 1 and she's been dead for ages! Had there been references to Nathan Tyson then these would have been more founded. And a prediction for you. James Henry will leave by the beginning of next season. I would love to see him given a chance but I have a gut feeling that he is not up to the standard.

It's quite clear from the line-up for the reserves game that none of the those players will be involved tomorrow night, with the exception of Murty who came off after an hour or so. Got a sneaky suspicion he might make the squad.

The only change I expect tomorrow night is Noel Hunt in for Shane Long, pity about Shane he was hung out to dry the last two season, a young energetic and speedy forward was never experienced or physically mature enough for the Prem, as most on here agreed he should have gone out on loan in the Championship to gain experience and confidence, something that he is woefully short of in both departments at the moment, just another victim of a scrooge penny pinching management.

If Hunt doesnt start tomorrow then he must start to think why the hell did I come here, should be up to speed now, happy with the way we play, knows where the ground is and is old enough !

Noel Hunt must come in for Long, other than that I can't really see any changes (though i did find it odd that Federici didn't play for the reserves yesterday).

It mentioned on Teletext/Ceefax in the team news that Murty was facing a late fitness test on his calf...maybe Coppell is considering bringing him back, although i'd be slightly concerned that having played 60 mins for the reserves yesterday he wouldn't be up to it. Guess he could make the bench but i would think that Kelly would be on the bench ahead of him as he can cover both full-back positions.

Would like Murty back just for leadership presence on the pitch - the current captain is not only lost in terms of footballing presence but he's certainly no leader either!

Murty is not in contention for tonight - that is on the official site.

Cheers for that.

I do find it slightly mystifying those people who are talking about a possible return for Marek. I haven't heard anything to suggest he's even back in training yet! Didn't think he'd be back till at least October and he hasn't played any reserve games lately.

My Team would be-

Hahnemann

Rosenior Bikey Pearce Armstrong
Kebe Karacan Harper SHunt
NHunt Doyle

Federici
Ingimarsson
Convey
Lita
Mooney.

However I expect Coppell will drop at least one of the youngsters, probably play Bikey in midfield but still have 2 defenders on the bench, see Sam Sodje's name being mentioned on the official site  The midfield really concerns me because our main problem on Saturday was lack of creativity but again I find myself picking a midfield with Harper, SHunt and Kebe in in because I don't feel the other options could offer us anything better. Time to delve into the loan market I think

Fed in for USA
Bikey CD in place of Pearce
SHunt in CM alongside Harps with Convey LW
Doyle and NHunt up front

But I dont expect SC to drop USA - I would just like to see Fed given a go.

I'll be dissapointed if he does.

Rosenior is far better going forward and his crossing inparticular.

He doesn't warrant dropping either.

Matejovsky is only just about to start running so it will be a while yet before he is in contention.
