Bryn's the guy you bring on with 20 mins to go to shut the game down. He also can come on as an attacking option from set plays. Plus he gives you options off the bench for centre half and right back. Imo he is th ebest 'squad' player we have ever had.

Touched on it originally but still see Karacan going out on loan. We've got 4 centre mids all capable of doing their jobs, Karacan appears 5th choice and even if you have him above Bryn, he's better of playing 90 mins somewhere else and as I said above Bryn is prob a better option on the bench anyway.

I agree. Karacan might be best served by going on loan. The problem is where can he go to get a similar standard of play to what he has with us? Somewhere in the Championship I suppose. But what happens if no-one wants him? It might be better to have him in the squad than playing in league one.

If I was Coppell, I wouldn't be able to justify dropping Harper for Marek at the moment. Harps is doing fine and Marek is probably not back to full fitness.
I do think that in time Marek could add something to the team that isn't there without him. He can play killer passes from midfield, when nothing seems on. I think we can get out of the division without him, by just stretching teams and piling in the crosses, but if we do get promoted, we'll need players like Marek when we're struggling to create chances. And there will be times when we want to create chances without committing too many people forward. At the moment he probably looks for the game changing ball too often, but he can work on that. He can keep the ball better than anyone else in the squad too.

Step forward Southampton! I think there would be a fair few Championship clubs after him to be honest.

Ozymandias I'm staggered that there are 8 people from 100 odd, that think Gunnarson has anything to add being a starter.

*shakeshead*

apart from the fact that when he started this season he was very good, and part of a successful partnership with karacan

your view staggers me more

Your view is staggering, I don't believe I've seen Gunnarson play this season with a rating of 'very good', and whilst Karacan started weakly, he's staggered me with his improvement. I'm staggered you can call it a successful partnership. Our opinions must be staggeringly different.

Well personally, I still think the guy has a lot to give our team. I include starts as well as cameo appearances. He's no Glen Little, but he really has a great footballing brain.

A 3 man midfield in an 3-5-2 would be my fantasy side.

Bikey as a lone centre back because he's twice as good as any striker in the league (also twice the size). I know this isn't practical and Bikey would end up completely out of position without Pearce or Ivar to keep him in the right place, but I'm fantasising.

Midfield trio of Karacan-Cisse-Matejovsky. Jem runs around all over the place doing the work of both Sidwell and Harper, getting in the box, getting out wide, dribbling through the middle, etc.

Cisse anchors the midfield allowing the other two to attack.

Marek does the glamourous stuff.

Hands up who wouldn't want that? (Ignoring the one centre back problem of course).
