yappy I swear some of you must've been watching a different Kelly from me, IMO he looked very much out of his depth. He lacks physique, his positioning wasn't great, he got far too tight to his man and how many times did he just wack the ball up the field? A couple of decent runs up the field were the only thing that impressed me.

royalexile I just wished Harper had belted the ball that was squared to him instead of the lame shot that ensued. Harps seemed more involved in the game tonight and put in a few telling tackles.

bcubed I agree Doyle is a huge asset and the master of chasing and winning lost causes.
But he looked off the pace in the second half and perhaps disinterested at times. I rarely think he should be subbed but with 20/25 minutes to go it was obvious he needed to come off. Just knackered? Guess he's due a rest

OLLIE KEARNS Things that stood out for me last night.
- The pitch is awful. We aren't going to see many "football" matches for the remainder of this season.
- Federici's kicking was immense compared to Hennessy. We could knock it back to him. Wolves had to knock it out for a throw.
- Kelly did okay but no more than that. Every threat from Wolves came down that channel. Kightly wasn't sighted with radar on the other side. Jarvis had 3 or 4 good shooting opportunities.
- Our front 6 were immense in terms of work rate and defensive work in general. Wolves rarely had controlled possession going into our final third.
- Pearce had an excellent game but it was played to his strengths. Nothing was played in behind our back four largely because of the defensive work in front of him. He won just about everything in the air.
- Noel Hunt worked his socks off as always but I always feel his movement when we have the ball could be much better. Lita's movement was excellent when he came on which allowed us to have some controlled possession in their final third for the first time in the match.
- Credit to the referee. This was a proper old fashioned battle and by and large the game was allowed to flow. It's the easiest thing in the world to pick holes in the ref but he had a good game last night.
In summary. Not a match for the neutral or the purist. But, a proper old fashioned battle in which we came out on top as a result of top class commitment, desire and organisation plus a little skill thrown in now and again. I'll be amazed if Reading and Wolves don't go up come the end of the season.

The 17 Bus Nothing that a few days of dryer weather wont sort out with the pitch, have said it before the continuall freezing is not good for it at all, it prevents draining.

Dirk Gently Interesting to note that Collins was already a target of hatred amongst Wolves fans before today - imagine Harper or Long scoring an og and being sent off and you'll get an idea .....

Can't agree with you their Mr Bus. The lack of grass means that the pitch will always be uneven and covered in divots after 10 minutes of play. Grass holds the surface together and there ain't much of it on our pitch
I think the club has entered into a long term agreement with the egg chasers so they either need a Plan B with the pitch or we're going to see a lot of hoofball over the next few years.
