tbh i would rather s.hunt stay than harper, even though he is a twat with his attitude and what he says, i think once the window shuts, he may sort his performances out!!

if they both go i hope we sign someone!! would of liked to of seen giles barnes here

What worries me most is that I have no confidence in the club to spend money replacing these players.

Why not ?

We've replaced almost every other player we've sold....

The rules of the game are that you unless you spend at least the amount received then they can't be classed as replacements.

I'd agree that Harper going is no real loss at this stage with the back up we have there

however in terms of Hunt I'd like him to stay till the summer - and then we take the 5 million and run. His assists and ability to keep running and chasing could make the difference between being first or third.

Rice and Surman are good players - but would how quickly would they fit it? Unless you sign an experienced old hand, January transfers take time to bed in. Kebe is a good example.

and I think Tabb could be a more than equal replacement for Hunt in the short term

Contrary to popular belief our squad is not strong enough. Harper and Hunt are quality players who aren't playing particularly well, but they are just that....quality players. Haven't you all realised by now that there is no point in reading selling players as we don't spend money on replacements? Harding and tabb have nowhere near the quality or same credentials as harper or hunt and we sure as hell won't spend a few million on replacements. Specualtion is there to be ignored, why do people pay attention to the crap sky and the sun write?

If you don't know what you've done wrong, then maybe you should have been concentrating more in your English class. Or have you finished school early?

I really think we would miss Harper. Jem's no where near Harper at the moment, we all know about Marek's short comings. We wouldn't replace him and losing him could only make us weaker. Cisse/Harper is the only midfield partnership that has really worked this season...

Hunt can fcuk right off though. We have to replace him though...

Why?

I don't think we'd miss Harper in the long-run though. It'd take the new midfield a few games (say, 10) to settle and then if the combination's right we might have 50% of a unit capable of more than just shadow-boxing.

Hunt, fo rall his faults, would be a big miss. Shorey is finding out just how hard life post-Hunt is. Luckily Armstrong seems to need him a bit less.

I still don't think we've replaced Sidwell, Kitson or Sonko to be honest.

I think it's debatable wether we've replaced Shorey either (the good one not the one from the majority of last season). Armstrong is steady enough and does ok in this division but could he cut it in the Prem? I doubt it to be honest.

The side is, in my opinion, weaker and with less potential for getting stronger than it was a few seasons ago. I don't think we can complain too much about that as that side was something really special, but we also have to recognise that although we have players playing in their places, we've not replaced those players with players of similar quality/qualities (again, in my opinion of course).
