John Peel The chances are that this game won't matter now anyway. Birmingham about to go six ahead. If Utd get the nerves tomorrow and lose then both of us will be destined for play-offs.

In which case I predict 0-0 on a sh*te pitch with lots of long balls and a defensive midfield with no wing play.

Oh, and loads of boos from the East Stand followed by a thread on Hob Nob in the evening either trying to persuade us that we still have a chance or one that has a go at Harper and SHunt for being ineffective.

plus chants of Coppell Out, renewed season ticket cards being thrown on the pitch and a few 'hot heads' beered up trying to pick fights with stewards.

As unlikely as it is despite last nights win for Brum, it is still in our own hands. We just need to win the game in hand on them and match the results of Brum and the teams around us to set up a last day showdown.

tis written in the stars that UTD will put this bad run to bed this weekend, and consign us to the playoffs as revenge for the last 11 games

We do not have a settled team and Coppell has a nine midfielders to choose from. At present he has not the faintest idea whether to pick four or five of them or which permutation to use. Pretty difficult then to predict the outcome of games.
The tactics used by Sheffield United will influence the outcome more than anything else. Perhaps someone will come down and play 4-4-2 for a change.

3-0 Home win.

Had Wolves won last night I would have bet we'd lose badly, however since we have pretty well lost all hope of automatic promotion and because it's the Blades and we always beat them, I'm going for a sneaky 1-0 win.

Reading 0 Sheff Utd 3

Coppell to come out with all sorts of cack about not knowing why there has been a slump in form, international breaks causing havoc, tomtom sat navs not having the M6 toll in them pre 2007 model, how does the man who drives the snow plough get to work and why is Kerry Katona famous?

Strange thing is that expectation and form will be so poor going into the play offs that we will probably win them......

Okay, I'm gonna leave a question for the pessimists.

Think of all the disappointing performances this season. How many of them were against the top sides? The only one I can think of is Swansea away in the phase when they were playing like Brazil. We were unbeaten against Cardiff. How we lost away to Burnley and Preston I will never know, we were very unlucky. More to the point, we turned it on against Wolves twice, Brum, Sheff Utd at Brammall Lane, against Burnley at home, Swansea at home and indeed most of the better sides in this division. Our most recent win, away at Doncaster, came against possibly the side who have been on the best form since Christmas.

We'll beat Sheff Utd before blowing our season against Blackpool or Barsnley.

Optimism and pessimism in the same post.

Lull Sheff U into a false sense of security by letting them win easily on Friday and then beat them in the play-off final at Wembley

You do realise that last night's result didn't change our situation don't you?

Shhh, stop spouting facts yourself.

The only think it does now change is that we no longer have any room for manouvere, we have to get it right from here on in.

A mauling. Reading 0 Sheff Utd 3. Lots of boo's. Stephen Hunt will be shit again. Too many long balls. Not enough width. A Coppell frown.
