No doubt we can blame the current state of the pitch if we get to Wembley and lose...

Ian Royal
winchester_royal Once again 2ww 1ww, you won't find too many people agreeing with you on that one.

I am worryingly optimistic that we will win the play-offs (assuming we don't get automatic promotion.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're still a relative new comer (no dig intended by that) with little play off experience aren't you? You'll learn.

I was at the millenium stadium when we lost to Walsall, and I was there when we oxf*rd up against Wolves. Though given I was 3 years old when we collapsed against Bolton I was unable to make that one.

We've had an awful lot of bad luck in the play-offs (if Forster hadn't got injured in the last ones we may well have gone up), but may be its about to turn.

I take it back, you're just remarkably resilient to the Royals Play Off blues.

If we lose, I hope it is in the semis. I don't want to go to Wembley and lose again. That would be shit.

You'll have it beaten out of you by the time you're 25, don't worry.

However by the time your 50+ you`ll be fed up of being a pessimist and with a little help of the onset of stress fueled dementia and visual impairment revert to a mild form of gibbering optimism.
The future is bright the future is a stannah stair lift and a colostomy bag.Theres alway some cnut worse off. Garn you firkin rzzz gibber ,wibble and drool... etc

I think we will get past Burnley, only to lose to Sheff Utd in the final. No doubt our players will bottle it in the final.

I don't see too many people arguing against me though.

Don't get me wrong I do agree with you that we might well win it remember: I did say I think we might make it, but not because we're a good side on form... but rather because we're so awful right now and not too many people are expecting us to be any good (and it's abotu time we had some playoff luck). I'd rather people don't take us seriously. I wouldn't given our relegation form this year.

I'm using the optimism via pessimism route.

But if you're an all out optimist who genuinely thinks we're the form team out of all playoff contenders that's fair enough.

In any case we're both optimistic.

(I'm even optimistic that we'll win both matches, SUFC wiill fail to win and we'll go up autopro!)
