Darren Caskey's Dietician Good news to be honest, even better if we can get £3 million in the process!

I'm more concerned that Bryn hasn't resigned yet......

We're stuffed if we end up playing Gunnarsson regularly this season.

We're stuffed unless we have a bit of depth in the squad.

With potentially a young first team having the likes of Bryn around could be crucial.

He's hardly ever let us down when he does play and can 'do a job' in a variety of positions.

I hope he signs, I don't expect to see much of him and it is quite likley he may get a longer contract offer from a Div 1 side that he decides offers more security. Whichever, he's been a top pro for us.

Tabb, Karacan, Matejovsky and Cisse are all better in the middle than Gunnarsson.

HArper played like his heart wasn't in it? Congratulations you've probably got most incorrect statement of the summer wrapped up, so early and with such competition, you should be very proud

You've obviously been watching a different James Harper to me.

Would rather have Gunnar in there than Cisse if i'm being perfectly honest.

Excellent 10-game spell mid season, but other than that has been shite everytime he's played, and like Kebe does not have a good footballing brain.

Hunt may well be difficult to unload at anything but a fire sale price. Premiership clubs will be aware of his form and attitude in the second half of the season just ended. We'll have to hope that potential buyers are more influenced by his status as a current Irish international player.

Cisse is the perfect example of 'one of the players Coppell bought who is no better than we had' he's ok. That's it. No better or worse than Gunnarsson but being around 10 years younger makes him far more valuable. I think Cisse could possibly make a decentish centre back butI must say I've never personally been much of a fan of his as a midfielder.

Plenty of other options in the squad and Gunnarsson add next to nothing with the current squad imo, I was very surprised to see he was offered anything.

Silver Fox All the best Hunty, a good if not great player who for some reason just didn't have it the second half of last season. Although it could be worse, you could have spent the second half of the season behind a keyboard bitching

I agree with that. Despite the abuse he has received, I don't think his effort was ever lacking. However, for some reason, the performances of the old Hunt, who everyone loved, just weren't there anymore. There were odd flashes in games but not the consistency that was needed. However, I don't think he ever stopped trying and running.

I'm actually an RTG wearer - just one who thinks that Harper has been piss poor this season compared to previous seasons.

I'll accept that in part this may be due to the fact that we've had an unsettled midfield this season and that you won't see the best of Harper without someone like Sidwell alongside him. But he's been anonymous on far too many occasions and as I said before, has played like his heart's not in it.

"Trying and running" is pretty much a requisite for professional football. For a winger, being able to be creative and get around the full back, maybe take a decent corner, is what sets you apart. Shunt provided the square root of fcuk all in that department.

Harper does everything like his heart's in it. Okay, his head might not always be right on, but the one thing you can't fault is his endeavour and effort.

He was a year younger then though...

He's had plenty of good games this season so that rules out the 'age' idea.

On the basis that most players were fairly rubbish for significant chunks of the previous season are you suggesting they are all too old ?

The Premiership in the 2nd year was certainly too much for Bryn to play as a regular starter. He covered well for Sidwell or HArper for the 2 years previous but it was certainly beyond him. I felt he could do a decent job last year but if we had 2 games in a week he was clearly absolutely knackered by an hour of the 2nd game. With so many other midfield options at the club now including similar style players in Tabb and Cisse, I see no future for Gunnarsson here, should be a wage saved,a sincere handshake and put the money towards forward players who want to be here.
