andrew1957 2008/9 DDLLWDDLWDDLDD - 14 points in 14 games
2007/8 DLLLLLLLL - 1 point in 9 games
2006/7 LLDLLD - 2 points in 6 games
2005/6 DLWWDDD - 9 points in 7 games in our best ever season
2004/5 LDLDDDDLLDDDWL - 10 points in 13 games
2003/4 DLWWLLLDD - 9 points in 9 games

Good call Andrew. I'm going to tweak the chart to look at the number of different lineups used in the specified number of games. Then all I need to do is work out a "Choas Coefficient" that uses the total number of players used, total number of lineups used, and the number of times each lineup is used, and we could end up with a single coefficient that allows us to compare the "degree of change" at a specified number of games for each season.

Sadly I'm not joking! I really am thinking of doing this! I MUST find a job - soon!!

Royal With Cheese Excellent thread, so far escaping the team board mongs for the moment.

As regards the "World Class Model", I fear we don't have the players with either the skill, experience or the intelligence to execute. The sooner he wakes up to this, the better.

I'm not convinced that the players are not good enough/not suited to how he wants to play myself.

I think its more the fact that by chopping and changing so much he's not giving them the opportunity to play and get used to the system he wants.

Doncaster punch well above their weight playing in a similar style. Swansea(and Martinez) were lauded from the rafters on these very pages last season as the best footballing side in the division. Obviously having a Jason Scotland helped their cause but a lot of their players were also lower league journeymen who with the right coaching and consistently playing the system improved beyond the levels they'd acheived up until then.

Hopefully Rodgers decision to trim the squad will lead to a much tighter and consistent team/squad selection. I've said it before but usuing 26 players in 9 league games is hardly condusive to educating players into playing a system most of them had never played before.
