Terminal Boardom in general, we have been incredibly patient. And yet we are criticised and urged to get behind the team. FFS!

You miss the point.

And to say we have been 'patient' is a little lukewarm really isn't it ?

We don;t want 'patience' tonight. A bit of passion, a bit of desire to actually try and give the players a positive kick up the backside.

Is there any criticism ? The fans have been very average this season. Simple fact really. Understandable given that we've not been given much to get us off our seats. Still leaves us with a choice. Go all negative and basically throw the towel and have the sole objective of 'regime change' or give it 90 minutes of complete support. If that doesn;t work then go demonstrate in the car park and take out your frustrations.

I find it very sad that someone can see anything odd in being urged to give the team some backing. But then some people have had the idea of protests on their mind since the season started....

Alan Partridge No real more or less so than normal in all honesty. I've sat up by the scoreboard on the rare games i have managed to attend and it's been reasonably good to be honest. In particularly Watford and Cardiff which coincided with two good first half performances.

Tonight will start of the same I have no doubts, can't fall behind early or the 'here we go again' attitude will kick in.

I've on;y missed the Cardiff game and believe me, the fans have been very low key. It's understandable, but disappointing. Sitting by the scoreboard is the worst place to judge as well. You can be sat amongst 50 or 100 people making a bit of noise but don;t realise that no one else is joining in. It's not been negative, just non supportive.

A performance tonight on the pitch is needed for sure. A performance off the pitch would really help too.

But I return to Pants Day. That wasn't just a chance to rubbish the players, manager or board. It was as much about rousing the fans out of their pretty apathetic torpor and get a spark back. Did it work ? No idea really but it struck a chord and other things followed and it got a bit of something back into the club that Mad Dog and Matt Robinson added to.

That wasn't how I saw it! How did" Players Are Not Trying Sufficiently" link to the fans having been apathetic. It's a viscious circle really - the players look like they're not trying, supporters can't be @rsed to keep cheering them on. What's worse this time around is that it isn't really the fact that the players aren't trying, it's the inept tactics etc from the manager and coaching staff that are leading to woeful performances on the pitch, a lot of supporters feel that the backbone has been ripped out of the club by the "cloth cutting" of the chairman. I really think the players are fully aware of this but they appear to have all but given up themselves now. I would suggest that we do "back the boys" tonight, but IF things don't go our way, I really really think we should be barracking the manager and co, NOT the players. And at the END of the game at that - it's not over til the fat lady sings, as they say. I genuinely feel sorry for the players - it's a shame Ivar isn't playing tonight - I'd have liked to have seen him take the bull by the horns and shout instructions to the players, even if they go against the tactics that BR has dreamt up for them tonight, but as he's not able to play, I can't see ANYONE else in that squad who could take on the mantle of a "leader" on the pitch. And that's another problem.

I've never liked to boo our players and I don't remember even getting so worked up about Burns or Bullivant in the same way I feel about Rodgers. I don't know what it is - the only time I was as pizzed off as this was when Waller wanted to let Maxwell form Thames Valley Royals.

It is the fall from Grace that makes this different, with TB1 and 2 we had not been in the Prem, we still were happy to be at level 2, and thought L3 was our rigthfull place, now the very idea of dropping to level 3 is too much to even contemplate, especially as we know how difficult it is to escape from.

FFS sensible reply to a RL post, I must be ill.

cardiff was the best home support of the season IMO

I actually thought that to begin with the atmosphere in the lower tier we generated at Loftus Road was very supportive.
It certainly outdid the fake hoops (but there again thats not exactly difficult.)
After their player got sent off and our heads dropped (for whatever reason) The fans turned on the team and Brenda.

I would imaging the same scenario this evening. It is up to the team to give us something to support and show that they are proud to wear the shirt.
If we draw or even lose whilst playing with heart and pride I will "Back the Boys" to the end.
If we play as we did for the final two thirds as we did at QPR then I will probably vent my frustration.

Lets hope tonight is the turning point of our season.

Maybe if the PA man stopped telling us to "BACK THE BOYS AND MAKE SOME NOISE" and the club didn't try out these bloody stupid things like those inflatable balls prior to the game, there'd be a bit more support in an "off the cuff" type of way, instead of them trying to manufacture it.

It's like when you're a teen and your parents try and tell you to do something, you want to do the opposite, because you don't like being told!

I'm sure he's not ST but the support was good that night because the team played really well for the first 15/20 minutes in the second-half. Even after Cardiff scored there was plenty of support.

Thought last night was very encouraging from the fans.

Started failry quiet but some top support even when we were behind. Players applauded at half time and at the end and no real hint of negativity.

So much more enjoyable than endless 'Rodgers Out' or 'Where's the money' nonsense and fans and players should pat themselevs on the back after much better performances all round.

Now for a goal and a win !!

Was it any coincidence that the best football in yesterday's match was played when the fans were at their most vocal in support?

And is it any coincidence that the fans were at their most vocal after something the ref did badly (the goal kick given after a goal line clearance) rather than in support of their team. Royals fans are so often at their loudest and most united when they've got something to complain about or someone to abuse, rather than someone to praise or support.

...but it carried on into praise and support and that was when we played our best.

He's old enough and experienced enough to cope with that - he's not a youngster who's short on confidence anyway who's just starting out in the game.
