Arnie_Pie
strap Bodgers' is delusionsal at best, a complete charlatan at worst. Has no experience, (Chelsea Acadamy/Reserves is of absoutely no relevance to a manageing a struggling Championship club), arrogance in his own ability far in excess of reality, and is nothing more than a loudmouthed "billy big bollux".

He went for the job. The board gave him the job knowing his background.

You cannot lay the blame at his feet. If this is your view the buck stops with the board and not him.

Any time you appoint a manager, you're taking a punt. I'm sure RFC are well aware that they've made a mistake that they need to learn from. That doesn't mean Rodgers is not accountable for the failures this season.

[BR quote]The former Chelsea academy and reserve team coach said: “If I’d known I would only be given six months then I would have done things differently, but they didn’t really give me a chance.[BR quote]

WTF !!!

Roughly translates as "If I'd know that my complete lack of ability would leave us hovering around the relegation zone, I'd not have applied for the job"

I had a few pangs of pity for the man, but that has now firmly gone.

WTF indeed!! You really ought to stop using Google Translator if that's the results you get.

As has already been mentioned, doing things differently is far more likely to mean that he wouldn't have caved into pressure from tightarse to offload very capable and proven in the higher levels of the Championship players, in order to save the Ego a few quid on wages. He is also far more likely to have signed older, more experienced players, rather than young prospects who would need time to adjust and realise their true potential and, like Coppell before him, would probably resisted pressures to blood too many young products of the academy.

IMO and, clearly his too, he was stitched up big time and would have been well advised to have counted his fingers after shaking hands with at least some of those involved.

readingbedding So let's not also forget it was Rodgers and his playing staff that got to club to where we are now and not the arse lickers that surround the egoman.

The Egoman and his arse lickers stripped the club of all the quality players they had, said "its cloth cutting time Brendan"..and then told Rodgers to make good with what was left, the academy and a sprinkling of new players somewhat inferior to those shown the door - which you will see from Man City - dont just become a team overnight...so yes they are as much to blame..although they would want to distance themselves from any blame - god forbid Hammond saying "I made a mistake"! ...

make do with whats left, and 7 new players

It would seem may be deaf as well as blind. There are numerous experts (who have been there and done it in the game) who have said that you can't expect virtually a completely new team to gel and produce good results in just a few months. Indeed it has been said about Hughes and Manchester City and he was given the funding to buy proper quality, unlike Rodgers who was given the threads off Madejski's cloth.

Shock horror!

The man with a 27 game record of lifting a club 6 places into midtable mediocrity ended up being rubbish?

None of us saw that one coming!

It MUST be down to the board.

SACK THE BOARD!

Hmmmm...Well who appointed him in the first place? This looked like a poor appointment to some of us in the first place. I hope the Chairman and his acolytes get it right this time.

It's funny how Coppell had a great relationship with the board and only ever had praise for them, yet a sacked manager doesn't........

This "lack of communication" thing seems an odd thing to say, to me.

Howe, the Chief Exec, will look to the football management team to get the football side of the business right. I would assume that Howe at least spoke to Hammond, if only at meetings.

What "communication" did Rodgers need? Or is this a jab at the current structure, and Hammond in particular? If so, I could understand that - there has to be some tension between a manager and a "director of football" and he wouldn't be the first to have a problem with it.

If, however, he really felt that he needed to talk to Howe, why sit passively and wait for this important "communication"? If it was that important, surely he only had to go and see him? Or pick up the phone!

Or would Hammond have a problem with that? None of us can know for sure, but my bet would be on a poor working relationship between Hammond and Rodgers.

Why would Rodgers want to talk to Howe? What does Howe have to do with the football side of things? He's too busy trying to rescue all of JM's failing investments.

Trying to save some face me thinks, unless he thinks Howe was sticking the knife in behind his back....

Rodgers knows that 22 points from 22 matches is not good enough.
Especially if he views himself like a WINNER.

As he said though, if he thought he was under pressure he wouldn't have gambled so much. Don't mean to steal one of BR's crap soundbites, but he really thought he was building for the future.

Knee-jerk reaction from the Board. It makes no sense - even the Taxi Driver was given more time than BR. They've got to go.
