As a slight aside - this year's cup run has already earned us the following just from the FA:

4th round winners - £90,000 (and potentially rising)
3rd round live on TV - £144,000
3rd round replay live on TV - £72,000
4th round highlights - £6,750

So that's already £312,750.

Add to that the following - don't know if either Liverpool game was on the radio and for how long but presuming BBC5Live covered the whle of both games:

3rd round on BBC5Live - £8,100 (presume they covered the whole game)
3rd round replay on BBC5Live - £8,100

Making a possible total of £328,950.

A televised game in Round 5 is worth £247,500 (replay is worth £123,750) and highlights are still £6,750. The prize for winning in the 5th round is a minimum of £180,000 and with each club getting 45% of the gate receipts, there's some serious money to be made...

Southampton (h) for me.

We haven't made the FA cup Q/F's in my lifetime. Would like the best opportunity possible.

Southampton has the benefit of combining local interest/rivalry with good chance of progress.

Leeds or Tottenham for me.
Being in the media spotlight has been good for little Reading.

A home time against the Saints would be the best option.

At least we'd get aq full house!

Stoke are the last team we'd want - well organised, will be fighting to win it, strong and experienced yet hungry throughout the side.

Agreed - certainly a the Britannia.

Worst case scenario is Stoke or West Brom away IMO - at least with one of the "bigger" PL teams, we'd be guaranteed a far wedge of gate receipts and potentially some TV money.
