Plenty up on the site recently, though as I'm still without regular internet I've had less ability to plug it here, so keep checking back.

Latest is the final report card, this time on the forwards.

Interesting read about the EPPP. I was following the story about Jeremy Peace the WBA chairman discussing the merits and costs of their academy when the news broke that the Chelsea vultures are circling above 16 yr old Albion academy player Isaiah Brown.

He even suggested that the 2.5m cost of the Cat 1 youth operation could be better spent on transfers. I can see his point tbh and there is a whiff of the English football super powers ensuring their status is maintained through racketeering the top talent for peanuts at the expense of the smaller clubs good work. A bit like stealing another smaller firm's R&D developments for your own corporate gain, as if we needed any more reminders that football is hard ball business these days.

Peace has the option to sign Brown onto a professional contract - if he doesn't then he can't complain about losing the player.

Unless brown is a greedy twat who is more interested in the size of wage packet than breaking through, because surely he's so much more likely to make an impact at WBA than at Chelsea.

And if Peace wants to abandon youth development and just buy players, firstly how many players will he be able to buy for £2.5M, and just who is going to develop young players for him to buy? Short-term short-sightedness at its best!
