(.)Boobies(.) Thaumagurist* will believe everything he is told by the always honest Reading Football Club.

He is right though.

I'll take the word of the club over some lying rag.

Royal Rother They don't make tall Welshmen do they?

John Toshack wasn't that small - James Collins is over 6ft.

But not many, I'll grant you.

moo Betting on our next manager is suspended across all betting sites - its either Ferguson or BM, and seeing as BM's been in charge one game I expect Ferguson to be announced either Monday or Tuesday.

I think more likely option is that there will be no appointment in the near future - as a result no more bets.

They wouldnt suspend a market on that basis- that would benefit the bookies.

Mark Hughes.

None of the others inspire me one bit.

I have respect for all those who are realistic enough to know that there's absolutely no chance whatsoever, no way no how, of Curbs wanting to manage a struggling tier two side. Get real and at least vote for someone who might want to take us on!

Got to say i was suitably impressed with McDermott's tactics, subs, motivation, and the way he came across after the game. Too early to judge whether he can do it full time, but another serious candidate if he does more of the same boxing day.

Paddy Power now offering
11/8 Ferguson
11/4 McDermott
7/1 Southgate
16/1 Coppell & Curbishley
22/1 Parky

it looks like there has been some recent money on Southgate

Southgate wouldn't be appalling, but I'd prefer Brian TBH.

Your tenner has obviously moved him in to 7s!

Ex-England manager, worked wonders at Swindon and Southampton, certainly a class above any other potential applicants. (With the possible exception of Curbishley)

Met Hoddle at Lords this year and asked him whether he'd been in the frame for the job this summer. He said NH had called, but that his focus is on his academy in Spain and he's not after another managerial role.

Not that I'd expect him to tell some oik like me his innermost thoughts. But it's what he said.

Frankly, I'd prefer an older head. Seems to me that those with long experience, wide contacts and a 'been there, seen that' approach (Coppell here, Hodgson at Fulham, Fat Sam at Blackburn, Redknapp variously) seem to achieve better results than the young and (perhaps) talented (Rodgers, Ince, Ferguson etc.). So, for me it's Curbs, Hoddle or the like. Better some negative baggage and a battle hardened spirit than breathless naivety and fancy theories.

I voted Curbs.

Hoddle, by the way, is bloody huge.
