Man Friday I just wonder...is the "investment" another set of "interest free loans"? (Like SJM's - "thanks" Sir John, by the way.)

Because if it is, we'll be up shit creek when it all goes wrong.

That's exactly what I said!! Most people seem happy to just sweep it under the carpet as if we're being given a load of free cash.

Just because you said it doesn't make it true  .

Nobody knows the details yet, but as many people have said, SJM wouldn't be doing this if it was potentially damaging for the club.

Sorry but if JM needs quick cash, then there is a chance of his judgement being slightly impaired.

Look if it all works out then great, but given how a lot of these lower league takeovers have worked out, some of us are rightly a bit worried.

Ian Royal Which isn't just buying success. The satisfaction in succeeding is having done so from a relatively level playing field, not by having a sugar daddy who pumps in tens of millions more than the majority of the rest.

Seemed to be implying, and that others are 'happy to sweep it under the carpet' because they aren't looking at it from a negative standpoint.

You mean looking at what has happened with pretty much every other club in this situation bar Man City & Chelsea?

I am enjoying Winchester Royal's conversion to the dark side of the force here. Real turnout for the cards.

Welcome.

...and could happen at Cheatski and Man City when the owners eventually pull the plug. They're not going to want to leave the money behind. How do you think they got rich? By being soft?

LoyalRoyal22 I am really exicted about this. I love the way the club has been run, we are a special club. If we can keep simliar good atmosphere at the club and keep Sir John, Nicky Hammmond and Brian all involved, as well as improving the academy and giving youth a chance, all good in my opinion.

We are like 2 quality players away from the premier league, if they got us a top striker Nicky Maynard for example, and a midfield with some creativity, Peter Whittingham for example, we already have the base of a good team, we would get promoted in my opinion.

Absolutely spot on in my opinion, just have to keep fingers crossed that this is the case!

Mansour and Abramovich converted their loans in shares to get round FFP so technically aren't owed a penny.

Surely Maynard is less risky than Rhodes though? If everything with the new owners is fluffy & nice don't we want someone proven at this level to fire us up the table?
