I think I would rather have Hoddle than Curbishley. I just don't think he is even a remote possibility.

Glenn Hoddle would be a great choice for manager.

Fantastic if it was a realistic possibility which it's not.

So it's in the chronicle this morning that the club aren't even looking at outside candidates and McDermott is in pole position.

What an absolute joke this club is. Madejski actually couldn't be ruining the club anymore if he tried.

I hope the old pr*ck has a royally sh*t Christmas. Tw@t.

I went for Hoodle, why? We took Coppel when his light had seemed to have gone out and look what he did. Remember what Hoddle did with Swindon? Remember what Coppel did with Palace?

My second choice is darren Ferguson, a very good manager at the lower levels, you've gotta risk it, why not risk it with a little talent?

But this is a pointless thread as the decision has already been made.
It's the cheap option. Surprise surprise !!!

Well firstly it could be a load of drivel.

It could be partly to have extra bargaining power with the new man. i.e. the current guy's doing ok with no new players and a low wage so don't expect too much of a wage or a transfer kitty...

It could be partly to give BM some hope so he actually tries hard and gets us a couple of wins before the next man comes in.

But it could of course have an ounce of truth, in which case I'd be pretty angry, unless he manages to win the next three or four games convincingly. And even that would only be a few games and would only prove that he's capable of getting some "honeymoon"ised players to play well for a few games and says little about the course of a season with players not trying to prove a point. And it certainly says nothing about his ability in the transfer market. The only plus I can see here, despite zero record, is that Parj did a good job and thats largely becaause he was already here and there was some continuity. However he had the luxury of startign off in a lower league and did pretty badly for quite a while... had he started off in the champ he'd have likely taken us down as this division would not be a forgiving as the one he was lucky enough to be in when he joined. And our expectations are much higher now. Please let this be rubbish.

I met one of BM's old teachers last night.

She said he wasn't very academic, not really interested in lessons as he was so focused on his football. Trouble was, he never grew.

A really nice lad apparently but hated doing arts and crafts - he moaned it was like being back at play school.

If by any chance you're reading this Brian, Miss Smith says Hi!

Yes but results only picked up when he was given money to spend - and a hell of a lot by league 1 standards

Darren Ferguson on Soccer Sunday and Championship Goals about to be shown.
Be interesting if they ask him about us being managerless.

Darren Ferguson has just said he wants to talk to Reading about the amangerial position.
Madejski would be a fool to not be on the phone straight away.

Depends if Ferguson is happy to not be able to get any more players for rest of season and happy with a low annual salary.

McDermott would be happy with both ! Im sure he'd even spend some grape feeding time with the high and mighty one if it sealed the job for him ...hasnt done the DOF much harm has it ! :D

Ferguson got asked about Sheff Wed & then Reading & he chose to answer about Reading first saying "It's got a great structure, bog club" etc.

He clearly wants the job - couldn't have been more obvious. Get him in Mr Mad FFS!
