I don't know why you find it so funny. The owners haven't exactly been at City long.

Did I say it did?!

Seemed to be implying, and that others are 'happy to sweep it under the carpet' because they aren't looking at it from a negative standpoint.

You mean looking at what has happened with pretty much every other club in this situation bar Man City & Chelsea?

Ermm...so...Portsmouth is basically your one precedent?

Like I said, because of how Madejski has always run the club, and what he has said before, I am confident that this investment will only help the club. And christ we don't half need it atm, because this team is the very definition of average.

And ftr, there's nothing wrong with interest free loans.

Errr...no Leicester, Notts County, Leeds, Sheffield Wed to name a few. The likes of Bolton & Wigan will be thoroughly fcuked if they go down this season too.

Leicester are fine though. :|

And anyway, they are completely irrelevant to our situation.

Ah ok...I categorically prove you wrong but you say they're fine. I see. Good debate. Thanks.

And how does one pay back these interest free loans when the owner wants their money back if the revenue less overheads cannot cover it?

Just asking...

No, you really haven't.

You've proved nothing, except quote a few clubs that have gone tits up financially. You haven't shown any links to our current situation, and hence your pessimism is completely unfounded.

And just saying, 'well the link is that they also had new investors' doesn't wash with me, because basically every club has changed ownership at some point in their history, it's business, and not everything is an elaborate russian con.

Wouldn't surprise me if Madejski has said to the Russians, how do we know you aren't going to pull the plug like you did with Everton and they've said "To show you we mean business this time, here's x amount to spend in January. We're serious" thats what it sounds like to me anyway

By selling players that have been added to the squad using those loans.

Assuming the management goes about their business properly then the capital position of the club should not be affected.

On that basis then, your optimism is also unfounded. The proof will be in the pudding. For the record, I hope you're right & I am massively massively wrong in being suspicious of it all.

My optimism is founded on the fact that I trust Mr Mad and he's excited about it.

Shame everyone else seems to be ignoring this. It's bloody insightful, and very encouraging.
