McNuff and Kebe were mentioned in the Chronicle, same comment that they have targets lined up to replace any leavers, however you can bet they are not as good as what we would sell, so an even weaker squad/team. Lets hope nothign happens with leavers. Also mentioned £3m get out clause for Siggy.

Royal Lady Reading McD's comments in the E-Po it wouldn't be surprising if one or two players go this transfer window still - Gylfi and Feds were the two mentioned in the paper as being the top two targets. And McD saying he's been looking a couple of players to bring in if that is the case. You can bet there won't be a striker so I suggest we're stuck with what we've got for a whole season.

Federici leaving, for me would be a blessing. He's over-rated and if that means we can cash in for more than he's possibly worth then happy days. Normally I'd fume at losing someone of Sigurdsson's ability, but the players around him just aren't good enough and with the serious lack of investment from the now uninterested Chairman, we may as well sell. With or without him we're a mid-table side at best this season.

With Honest Brian saying he's worried about players leaving before the window closes makes me thinks that some are defiantly on there way.

The only player I'm worried about us losing is Gylfi- the rest are all replaceable. I fear that we will take money for the The Sig though and that would severely dent us

Oh that McAnuff who is as inconsistent as Shane Long's goalscoring ratio??? He's very replaceable, I could think of a fair few wingers who are as good as him. At least Kebe is consistently dangerous

McAnuff is not very replaceable whilst Madejski remains in charge.

Watching the 2006/07 dvd as I write this and lol's at the way we spoke about money.

Our first year in the Premiership, doing amazingly well (I will note) ...and easily getting 23/24,000 a week. Nigel Howe says: "Ever since creating this stadium we've always imagined what we could do if we ever filled out 24,000 on a regular basis..." which yes makes sense in some sense, but the fact that it was only one season and we were talking about an expansion because we were filling out, completely naive.

The funniest thing that came out of it was no surprise, what came out of Madejski's mouth: "We now have the small business of making a sum of 20 million pounds." ...Fully aware the expansion didn't go through for whatever reason, but it's amazing how 4 years ago we were even considering talking about 20 million whereas these days we're struggling in debt.

I disagree there (I think at best we could have made the playoffs this season, like most clubs in the division), but more importantly it's really about what we're like at worst this season. At worst we're in danger of relegation. Last season demonstrated that. We got ourselves out of trouble in great style, but we've since lost Bertrand (2nd in player of the season poll) and brought in a poor replacement, player of the season Sigurdsson (quite probably not to be replaced) and Khizinishvilli (who arguably played as big a role as anyone in the dramatic improvement). Additionally we've lost three members of the squad who might have provided good options, or at least decent cover.

The championship is all about fine margins. Anyone who loses three of their key players and doesn't adequately replace them risks catastrophe.

"securing the long-term future of Reading Football Club..."

More like securing the long-term future of John Madejski.

You own a football club for chrissake. You're supposed to put your own money in. It's what football club owners do. In return you get kudos, prestige, etc. You can't have your cake and eat it. Sell the club at a realistic fee and let somebody in who's prepared to invest.

It says "on a season-long loan" for Zurab and Madejski says we'll be bringing "players" in. So, who's next?
