James Earnshaw has confirmed that January wages will be paid on time.

Given we supposedly were due to run out of the Olise money in Nov/Dec, and the club confirming short term cashflow issues, would be interesting to know who is funding the club.

Mid Sussex Royal STAR have spoken to the club and a detailed update will be provided next week.

The club's idea of 'detailed' is usually very different from the understanding that most people have of that word.

The devil is in the detail and I doubt we're going to be shown any devils (other than those currently controlling the club).

After months of practice, they have just become a bit more competent in publishing placatory statements.

It'll be something like - the latest bid has broken down but there are still many interested parties and we're working closely with them to sell the club, blablablah

I believe the phrase is:

"Mr Dai remains committed to sell the club"

All at Reading FC are diappointed discussions with the latest party have had exclusivity expire. There remain many interested parties and we are working closely with them to achieve the best deal for the club. Mr Yongge remains committed to a sale and finding an owner who is committed to taking the club forward, in the best interests of Reading FC.

The clubs is navigating some cash flow difficulties currently, however we remain committed to making sure all staff and players are paid on time. We're actively looking at funding solutions and while this may involve some player sales, we intend to maintain a competitive squad under Noel Hunt, who has Mr Yongge's full backing.

It would be monumental madness to sell Smith instead of Garcia, and we certainly shouldn't have to sell both if we're talking £500k - £2m for one or the other.

As long as he doesn't have to release control.

Agree - I can only think that the Southampton deal (if true) was a much smaller initial payment than Wrexham are paying....likely on basis they are getting an established player.

The only positive is the club carries on until the end of the season and we have points on the board.

The sad thing about all this is we are only a couple of decent players away from having a good shot at promotion.....with the current takeover position as it is I can see it all falling apart now.

On the plus side, Noel should get a bit more slack with results if we have no strikers.

Reynolds just saw the league highlights when we played Cambridge the other week, didn't he...

I feel like running out of money is the only thing that will force Dai out. We made progress last year when we were days away from administration.

Player sales weaken the squad and keep us in purgatory. £2m for Smith is good business, but if it's not going to strengthen the academy, our facilities or the playing staff, what's the point?

Having a club still being the incredibly obvious answer. It's not like Dai's other clubs quickly got sold when it was that or bust. It was bust.

Anybody got a list of OOC players this summer?

Not one of them in their right mind will put pen to paper on a new one if this whole sorry mess isn`t resolved by then.

I can see the remainder slapping in transfer requests too.

The future looks bright doesn`t it.

Some will have one year extensions that the club can trigger if desired- it has been reported that Pereira is one such player.

Wrexham probably won't pay that cash up front. Imagine it'll be in installments with add ons which we'll receive over a 3 year period. The initial fee will probably cover a months pay max

Honestly this is the lowest I've ever felt as a fan of this club. It really does take it's toll on your mental health. Part of me wants protests to escalate to show how angry we are but it probably won't do any good if not make things even worse.

Lowest for me was the training ground bid acceptance from Wycombe. I'm now just kind of numb to it all!
